Why can i only see 145mph on the highway?

'05 w/ 33k on the clock. Car feels down on power, boost is holding fine and IATs seem to max at 150*, although i've only gone up to about 80 on the logger. Best track time is 12.90s, before it was 12.30s.

Pulls ok up to 145, soon as it gets there it feels just like hitting the old limiter. Only change is it was in for service C at about 31k. I can't really recall if i had made a high speed run after service or not.

Should i go out and relog at high speed? Before 157 was no problem.

You probably had the ECU reflash. Looks like in your signature you drive and 04 but you state 05. I know 04's are affected by the ECU reflash but I haven't heard of 05's being affected. I couldn't break loose my tires after the reflash. Your track time proves that it HAS affected your HP. Unforturnately there is only one solution and that is have an upgrade done by a tuner. MB is not going to give you back your original setting.

As stated above, most E55's that are affected by this ECU flash are 03's and 04's. I know the poster stated 05 in his thread by under his signature it states 04.

My '04 is facing the same problem. I have had it in 2x for a "fix" yet the car only sees low to mid-140's.

I smell a class action......anyone want to join?

Man, I would be seriously angry. My S4 will show me 155mph while The Beast is a 200mph car so not even getting 155mph is unacceptable whether you choose to drive that speed or not. Good luck getting it fixed

the old "imaginary" recall problem again huh. those that think this problem doesn't exist sure must wonder how so many different people are still being affected.

I think these guys are justifying their development dollars and jobs for all the work they put into the 6.2 Litre Motor. Just flash the more powerful 55 motor down and then say look how great our work on the 6.2 motor is!!!

A lot of good points in here, there is no denying this problem- it is 145-146 everytime, and i used to always reach 157. Still feels exactly like slamming that limiter wall.

Also very good point about making sure the 63 cars shine well compared to the "old" cars. has anyone with these issues done just an ecu flash to compare? i'd don't like the idea but i may need to be the 2 grand guinea pig

How long since the flash is he having the "concerns"?

I'd be careful organizing a class action suit on a public forum. If you really think you have a case, organize, get a lawyer, and demand your rights. If not, all you are doing is making it harder for the tuners to get any leaway with MB.

Then why not take the power from the newer E55s as well?

powerchip/evosport has been able to return recalled (detuned) cars back to normal.

who knows...maybe because they're not at that "typical" trade in age like '03/'04 cars are and their owners leases aren't quite up yet.

While my "detuned" car has run 12.30, it stings like a b!tch to have to shell out two G's for something I've already paid for once.
