There's been talk here and there about this quick mod- it's about as far as I'd like to go with my car right now, but I am definitely concerned about getting it done right, and proper alignment of the tips.
What's the latest on shops in San Diego that have done this? Anyone have someone they swear by, or that has done more than one?
Thanks!

Sounds good- car's at the dealer right now, getting Clear Bra'd... I should have it back by Friday - any time after that is good for me!

Out Of Control!!
I do indeed have a guy. Not a connection, but where I had mine done. I was EXTREMELY picky as i am with everything and his workmanship and attention to my concerns was perfect:
Express Performance Center

Escondido

He can place the tips anywhere you want. Best thing to do is decide BEFORE, but it is all adjustable after the fact. I just had mine replaced by two stainless pipes. If you want an X or H setup, you may need to order those first.

Jangy, any reason you opted for a pair of straight pipes over an "X" pipe in place of the resonator? I do believe the resonator is an open chamber design that crosses exhaust flow, but I also know there is a dedicated "crossover" off the manifolds pre-cats. Maybe that initial cross is sufficient to balance exhaust pulses from left to right?? I'm getting ready to do this and I want to do it right. Thank You!!

I prefer the "thud thud" sound at low RPMs of the V8, so it was a matter of choice for me. Yes, there is a crossover early on to allow pressure release incase of backfire, etc.
We can argue all day about the power gains of one system over another, but I like the straights (smoother flow). Keep in mind when you hear all the other arguments that these will be the same people that claim there are no gains from the mod in the first place!!

talked to marc in the escondido store, they are not open on wkend, but he does have a store in santee that is open.
Also the guy who has the garage I mentioned regarding putting your car on the lift, said no problem,he also said he could do the straight pipe. I'm going to have him lift my car tomorrow and see what it looks like before I do anything.
Will keep you posted.
