Discount off MSRP for E63's???

A friend is likely to buy an E63 very soon and wants to know how much of a discount off MSRP can be expected. He is in the Los Angeles area.

If you know how much discounting is going on in LA (or elsewhere in US), please let me know ASAP.

Thanks a lot!

+4. Vadim can beat any deal. I won't post numbers, but the deal he made for 03c4s was pretty sweet. Below invoice for sure.

i have seen 5-6K off msrp by a few dealers on Ebay over the past few months so I would expect at least 5k minimum IMO.

Vadim at MBLN should be able to beat most Ebay deals in a heartbeat. Like others said, talk to Vadim.

I did talk to Vadim, who was very helpful. Thank you to all who replied with your suggestion to talk to him.

My friend did end up buying a black on black E63 from his local dealer.

Now when I see it here, I assume it some kind of affirmation of previous comments...kind of misspelled shorthand for ol' Vanilla Ice's phrase: "Word to your mother". Is that right?

Someone confirm for me the definition of "werd", and the origins of this word. I have been losing sleep over my obvious uncoolness.

Is that really 15K off MSRP on an '07 E63? If so, can that level serve as the cap cost for a MB lease? That would result in a pretty decent lease payment based on the latest rates/residuals posted at the Roadfly leasing message board. Also, pardon my ignorance but who is Vadim and where can he be contacted!

15k off retail is what, 5k back of invoice maybe even more with the small MBZ margin? I doubt you can get that even in the soft market environment.

When I was looking for mine the general consensus was that on the East Coast you could get as much as $8000 off MSRP on in-stock E63s.

This was a couple of months ago, of course. I didn't want to travel too far and my wife insisted on a color that HAD to be custom-ordered so I couldn't get nearly that much, but if you want white/black/silver and are willing to compromise on options I would say $5000-8000 should be easily doable, as long as you stay out of NYC/LI (and I would guess other areas). And even though I prefer to negotiate off MSRP you do have to be careful with some add-ons dealers like to slip by you (e.g. "marketing").

Vadim works magic. Don't forget all deals are subject to the situation, but yes, the E63 lease rates are pretty competitive when compared to the M5.

Hmmmm, pretty sure I was in the room when it happenned. Are you just tempting me to get an E63, or saying you don't think ANYONE can do it?

Hehe!!

Not here to argue. And definitely not saying that everyone's situation warrants it. You are right about your numbers, though.

Plus, don't forget we are talking about a $94K sticker.

Thanks for the info! To be clear, if $14K off a ~$95K MSRP is available, that brings the cap cost to ~$81K. Running that cap cost with the current MB captive lease rates (per Leaseguide.com) yields a payment of about $1,200/month for a 39 month lease, 12K miles/year lease with zero down. The payment actually drops slightly for a 27 month lease (due to residual value of 73%)! That assumes $1,000 in other costs and highest credit rating. That's a fabulous deal at anything close to those numbers. Perhaps he will add some basis points to the rate and that is how they justify the deal. I'll give him a call and find out.

Jangy I did a simple build at cars.com and fully loaded up the car and here is what I get:

E63 AMG 4dr Rear-wheel Drive Sedan Base
MSRP1 Invoice2
Base Price $84,600 $78,678
Destination $775 $775
Options $8,390 $7,803
Gas Tax $2,100 $2,100
Total Price $95,865 $89,356

I ask you this, find me a dealer that today or in the next few weeks will sell this car for 81k or 15k back of sticker. Cost on a 95k car is 89k. I know that Vadim wont because I would actually consider getting this car. 15k off sticker would be about 8k back of invoice.

Dude, I am not here to argue with you. I didn't get the car or I would fully elaborate. A friend did. He may speak up. I can tell you this (since you understand the "package deal"): It may be that other factors lended themselves into giving that discount? Also, I haven't actually seen the paperwork, so maybe it wasn't quite $15K....but it was damn close.

I agree that it has the ring of a "if it sounds too good to be true....." deal. If the discount below invoice is anywhere near that number, they must be making it somewhere and I assume it is in the financing by marking up the lease rate perhaps. In any event, it is worth a call down to MBLN to see what they are willing to do. I won't be a buyer (lessee actually) unless the numbers are somewhere in that ballpark, but I am definitely there for a 27 month lease if my numbers are close to theirs. The high residual in 2 years is what makes the deal work if the cap cost is close to the $14K discount from MSRP.
