E55: Modified clutch pack for supercharger, intercooler pump and steering rack?

I keep reading that AMG modified the supercharger clutch pack, intercooler pump and steering rack on the E55 AMG in the course of its build. Does anyone have the part numbers of these parts (modified vs. old) and know exactly when this was done? Also, was anything else modified?

Thanks

I don't know part numbers, although I'd be more than willing to crawl under mine to compare numbers with other members??

To the best of what I can figure out:

The steering rack was phased in during the '05 MY. Not sure what build date the switch was made, but i think it was early. Not all '05s have it.\

The clutch pack and IC upgrades were phased in during the '06 MY. However, Both of these were also added as DTBs, which could be retro-fitted under warranty for those that met the criteria. I know of quite a few '04s that had it done.

On a side note, does anyone know where we can get a parts number index? I know a member mentioned having his own. How do i get one? I'll pay.

I've heard from multiple credible sources that the supercharger clutch, torque converter, and IC pump were changed to a more improved version on all E55 2005 and 2006 models. The steering rack changed in a few 2005 models (but not all). Please note that suspension was changed as well to the new improved CLS suspension on some of the 2005 and all 2006 models.

I think there is a thread somewhere on here that goes into more detail...

Can someone please shed more light on this topic so that we can confirm it either wise

Yes 03 models can get these updates, but you'll have to convince your servie advisor there is a problem with the part you are trying to change. If he/she is your friend and willing to "hook you up" then they should not ask to "re-produce" the problem, and should be able to move you to the new parts under warranty (if you still have any warranty left).
My friend claimed his supercharger clutch was slipping "inconsistently" and that the car jerked (noticably) at different speeds. He also claimed that sometimes when he floored the gas pedal, the car didn't give that strong kick that it used to give. Every dealer is different though, so I don't know if the same story will work on your SA, but as long as you keep going back for the same problem, eventually they'll break and agree to change the parts

Good Luck...

Some of the parts will get warranty easy, like the clutch pack. The steering rack and suspension may need the SA to write up good justification.

The parts definitely fit onto an '04, as I know a few that have paid out the butt to get them.

If you are going to go for it, try to get the 030 control arms. They would be the only thing that even the '06s don't have.
