Merry Christmas from Santa's little thieves!

Well...I woke up this AM in beautiful So. Nevada to find snow on my front lawn. While I was out admiring this abnormal occurrence I noticed a nice floor jack under my 1998 Z28. Not a good sign. As I looked closer I found that Santa's naughty elves paid me a visit last night and took my wheels and tires. It would appear, however, that the little tikes were caught in the act and had to flee rapidly because they left a very nice floor jack, two chrome jack stands, a nice Snap-On 1/2" ratchet with extender and socket, a "T" lug wrench, clip on LED light, my three locking lug nuts and a small jack.

My comprehensive insurance deductible is $250.00...so, my Camaro will soon have new wheels and tires and I figure that with the equipment that was left behind, I'm about break even. Santa really hooked me up this year!

By the way, if any of the naughtly little elves are out there reading this, you're welcome to come by and steal from me again.

Merry Christmas.

They got all 4. I'm replacing them with what I had on there before..American Racing Torque Thrust II. I had 17 X 11's in the back to fit the nice 315 DR's. The car looks sick. I'll have to post a pic when I get them back on. With regards to the insurance claim..I'm not worried. I worked in that industry for 15 years. I know what flies and what doesn't. I shouldn't have any problems.

WHOA!!!! Unbelievable!

Good thing your AMG was parked in the garage. Before I read the story, I saw the picture and I immediately thought your AMG's wheels were stolen.

At least today won't be totally bad... those dyno numbers should put a smile on our face!!! See you at 5

Apparently, thieves have access to wheel lock keys. I had the "splined" locks on there and they, according to the experts, are the easiest to get off. So, now the wheels will have two different sets of locks. That won't stop the "motivated thief" but hopefully it will slow him down while I have a chance to introduce him to a couple of my friends..Mr. Smith and Mr. Wesson!

Not really sure. But, I don't think they'll be in the business much longer if they keep leaving equipment behind. By the way, the police were able to get a nice fingerprint off of one of the jack stands.

While I admire their ability to jack up my very low car with apparent speed, and by the way, without any damage whatsoever to the ground effects (they can't even do that good at the tire store), they are better suited as a racetrack pit crew than as criminals.

Wow, sorry to see that. I had my rims stolen off my Audi in the Thomas and Mack parking lot. The officer on the scene said they were at least nice enough to leave the car on cinder- blocks...they could have dropped it onto the ground. Oh well.

Anyways, I was going to try and make it out to the dyno tonight although when Josh told me Craig and Louseey, I threw up in my mouth. I think that intersection is about 2000 miles from my house.

Have fun

BTW, I got some snow, pretty cool.

Damn, thats a nice jack! Sorry to hear about your car but it seems that you're pretty confident that everything will work out ok. Funny, from the picture it actually looks like a pit crew was putting in a little time off the clock. Good luck and congrats on the new toys!

Lucky you, all I got when they took my wife's rims off her brand new '98 Subie Forester (this was in '97-we had owned it about a month) was a rusted jack and a block of wood. My only consolation was the fact that because it was the first model year for Foresters the rims and tires would not fit any other vehicle made at that time. In fact, I had to wait over a month while Yokohama sent replacement Geolandars by boat.

Come on. I drove from Green Valley! We would have loved to have you there. Next time you need to put some gas in that bad boy and come out and play.

Do you leave your car parked outside at night or were you just out and about when that happened?
