Not sure if I posted this before but here are my diagnostic IAT and Boost guages in the center console.

IATs were only 10F over ambient when I ran the 997...averages 15 over. Boost hits 15-15.5 with exhausts closed and only 13-13.5 when full open...weird.

No, it's not weird at all. Boost is a measure of backpressure or air that can not flow through a system naturally. Freeing the exhaust in a supercharged car will almost always decrease boost but it will increase horespower.

What size tank do you have for those monsters? I have kept fish for a long time but recently got rid of them all. I did though just buy my 7 year old a 5 gallon goldfish tank! I use to keep a lot of salt water stuff but it takes too much time. I had a few nice tanks set up and i was gone for a day or two to come home to a clogged overflow which ruined a floor or two and ended my relaitonship with the fishes....

The big wild caught cichlids run me $200-300 as they are caught from Nicargua and transported up. Nothing when compated to $1000 Flowerhorn or $5000 Red Aarowana's...thats just crazy. My tank is a 220 gal.

You can get those teethy fish above at www.riverwonders.com or here
http://www.aquascapeonline.com/store...?idCategory=68
for under $65 each.

If you are ever in MD this is the place to buy crazy stuff. Riverdale Pets. http://badassfish.com/html/piranhas.html

At one point they had 100 crocidiles and about 1000 pirahna...all different kinds.

The craziest thing I owned was a 18 inch Camain Crocidile. That place above will sell you anything in MD pet stores, they are now illegal though. They grow to 9 feet. One day it broke out of its terrarium in my garage and began hissing and barking like a dog at my neighbor in the driveway. I took his *** back after that incident.

Love the wheels
It would look much better with the stock, or better yet, blacked-out stock grill.

That would be 25 extra hp with everything else the same. Remember, boost is air that your engine can't use naturally and is the measure of backpressure. If you improve the flow of your intake, heads, and exhaust, without sacrificing air velocity, your supercharged engine will make more power but will create less boost. Meaning that your total flow and efficiency will be greatly improved so there will be less backpressure(boost) with your improved flow.

Don't think of boost as hp. Really, it's a measure of inefficiency in regards to the amount of air you are trying to force into the engine. Freeing the exhaust lowers boost but creates hp. Porting your heads will decrease boost and increase hp. More efficient intercoolers will cool your air more and create less boost with the cooler air. All of these things will create less boost but will give you a greater hp return.

When everything else is held constant your engine will make more power with greater boost. However, there is a point at which more boost will make less hp. That point comes when you heat the air beyond your cooling capicity and the excessively hot air will decrease hp. That's when the adibatic efficiency of your supercharger or turbocharger comes into play.

2005 E55 Delivered 01/07/05
Big Deal, his car was bone stock and yours is very well modified. We all know that a bone stock E55/E63 would get it's butt kicked in by any stock 997TT.

Tried to post this several times this week, but had to leave b4 i could finish,so here i go again.
Last weeks i called a few friends of mine that wanted to play to see what we had.
The players were:
My 03/e55 w/k4,nos, and High-Tech Boyz fmic.
1998 Comaro w/383 stroker and nos
1996 trans am with crate motor and nos
2004 Cobra with ported s/c and fmic and nos
2001 996 t/t w/700 hp upgraded turbos
2007 997 t/t with only 90 mls (bone stock)
1996 300zx t/t 600rwhp
Believe it or not,the stock 997 t/t beat every one in the quarter mile , from a dig b/c it was 4wd.......the other cars was coming on strong at the end of the 1/4 ml.,but not before the 997 got to the 1/4 ml.
It was about 35 degree at night, and everyone was having trouble hooking up because it was so cold, except the 997.Even the 996 was having problem hooking up.
On a role on it was a different storey ,my e55 off and on the gas beat the trans-am,comaro,mustang on and off the gas.
The 996 beat everyone, except my e55 on the gas.
The Z car beat everything, except the 996 and e55 on gas.
The power delivery on the nos on the e55 is very smoothe, but strong.
Without proper tires(drag radial)the e55 on gas is impossible to hook up.
However, my point is the 997 is one heck of a car...It is said that in race mode the car dynoed to what equates to 550rwhp after parasotic loss.
The same person owned both the 996 and 997 and said that stock for stock, the 997 is not only faster, but is a much better car.
We plan on doing this again soon, and will be having a stock zo6 go up against a stock 997......will post you update on this soon.
Anyhow in a arena of fast cars ,the e55 will hold its own against the best of them,

Correction on the 997 hp,it is said that in normal and race mode, the car makes 480 and 550 crank hp respectively.

That makes sense, didn't think about it that way.

By the way I also raced my neighbors 996 TT X-50 cab in both my stock E55 and S4 in my sig ...while back.

from 5-80mph the 996 and S4 were dead even...then X50 pulled 2 cars to 110. The x50 would beat the stock E55 by 1.5 cars to about 110. Today its not even close...about 5 cars.

Its for sale...I think he will take $95-100k. Cost him $165 new.

Run what you brung. The faster the better when they come out of the factory...but seriously... what I think matters is how it performs when its in your garage and in your hands. For the arm chair racer I agree the 997tt will kill an E55. What was your point again?

It's totally belieable IMO...

E55 baller... from a 5 mph roll .. thats a hard one... 1st gear is super short in the 996tt...you cant even use full boost thats how short it is...and if the peson dosent know how to drive... easy kill... my first drag race was vs my friends Viper...and at the time my shifting was not the greatest... 2nd to 3rd in the tt is a bit hard...and thats where he gained 3-4 cars on me and beat me... besides that it was dead even...nice run though

Nice kill.........

But come on....you have a modded E55 and you raced a stock 997TT. If that guy had a fully modded 997TT, he probably would've killed you instead.

Just my $0.02.
