i finally got someone to play with me today. i've had two short no contests with goofballs in mustangs but never a spontaneous full wot run with anyone until today.

anyways i jumped on a new section of lightly traveled freeway and what do i see but a shiny red ferrari in the right lane. i figure i'm going to get this guy to play if it i have to follow him home and pay him!!! so i run up next to him and toy with him for a minute and realize he's on his cell phone and won't even look at me. i'm so used to nobody EVER wanting to play that i quickly gave up and slowly pulled away. about a mile down the road i see him jump across to the left lane, pull up to my left rear, and pace me at 70mph. i was thinking he was going to get next to me and give me the signal but he didn't. i then see a car in my lane about an 1/8mile ahead and think oh, he wants to wait to get this only car out of our way. nope...he sucker punches me by waiting so that the car is right in front of me when i hear a truly wonderful sound as he floors it and gets a good 1/2-3/4 car length on me before i realize the race is on...f*cker!!! i floor it and pull around to the right lane and managed to not give up any more distance. he kept that lead until around 100 when i caught him. i could hear his f1 gearbox slamming shifts so quickly it was awesome. from 100 i put 2-3 lengths on him to 150 when he let off. at that point we both realized the race was over because i was STILL adding distance.

i slowed down to give him a thumbs up and thank him for playing but the pecker wouldn't even look at me.

btw, please...no bmw type disclaimers like "but in the twisties" or their new favorite, "but above 120mph" because i know that car would absolutely KILL me in any other venue. actually i was quite surprised at the outcome in this one. i'm sure there are many reasons his f430 (he) lost today and many reasons why it should have walked me at those speeds but i guess today was my day.

my only regret is that i don't have a video to show gustav.

 

You put 2-3 car lengths on a F430 from 100 to 150 mph?
Sorry but the driver must have f*cked up because that doesn't sound right, a F430 would pull you pretty good up top.....not the other way around.

yep, i thought so too but maybe we're simply believing the whole "the e55 has no top end" bs because it's being said so much by bmw guys. i'm actually kind of tired of guys saying they're m5 or whatever may not beat us in the 1/4mile but after 120 our e55's are toast. besides gustav's video of a weak k4, there's a LOT more evidence to say otherwise.

as far as him *******g up...i'm not sure how you can f*ck up in a straight line, from a roll, with paddle shifters but who knows. i can't make excuses for him, all i can do is report the outcome. if he did manage to screw up i would have expected to hear some excuses instead of him ignoring me. regardless, a k2 e55 is nothing to take lightly and i would have gladly raced him again if he would have had the ***** to look at me afterwards.

Our cars with our mods(Chiromikey included) will easily pace or walk an F430 at least thru 3rd (133mph) or even further, based on the published numbers of the 430. I've clicked off several 1/2 mile runs doing 0-155!
and that's with a "little" heat soak. ... from 100-155 it's even more impressive. Congrats Chiromikey, that result is plausable and probably factual in my book. Good kill and next time - hopefully a vid to convince the
doubters!

Pal I didn't say he was BSing , also I didn't know he had a K2 package but I have run against a F430 before and it pulled real hard from 90 MPH. And I ran it more than once.
We have very fast cars for what they are but alot of you seem to think they are unbeatable and thats not the case. A F430 is pushing close to 500BHP and weighs 3197 lbs thats roughly 1000lbs lighter than a E55!
A stock E55 will lose all day to a F430 from 100 mph up!

Yes I saw it and the Subie had 401 whp and the E55 had 476 whp and the E seemingly lost.
The actual race was not quite right, racing in traffic like that is stupid and not really indicative of what those cars could do with enough room.

Well done, I too had the fortune of racing 2 F430s in the past month and killed them both (Not easily though). The Spyder I raced was slightly slower than the Modena but still they are very quick cars and you really have to be prepared otherwise they're gone! Definitely harder to kill than Gallardos I don't think I would have had a chance stock.

Jrocket: What options are you going to order with the 335i TT? Mine are:
Alpine White, Cream Beige interior, Premium Package, Sport Package, Steptronic AT tranny, Paddle Shifters (I love these!!!), Comfort Access, Heated front seats, Light Poplar Wood trim, Satelite radio. This is really a fun car! But I still love my 06' E55 best of all. The neat thing is "Which car do I want to drive today?

 

Alpine White,Black Dakota interior, Premium Package, Sport Package, Steptronic AT tranny, Paddle Shifters, Comfort Access, Heated front seats,Dark burl Wood trim, Satelite radio,Navigation,and maybe the park distance control.

Only other change would be to Black paint instead of the Alpine white is all.The day my Audi S4 sells,its getting ordered.I almost went ahead and ordered it now but I have ran out of room for cars and boats.

Even if you'd lost you're driving a mid size sedan so it's a win win situation and only the Ferrari can get embarssed by the loss.

A friend has a conv 430 and they sound and go unbelivably well. However, the E55 isn;t called the beast for nothing

 

Way to represent. I have to ask a question. How many of you know the difference from a 430, 360CS and a 360 visually? A 430 can hang with a Z06 up to about 115-120 and then its all Z06!
