Sad, sad day
After 39 wonderful months, we turned in our 04 E55 back to Mercedes with but 20,400 miles on it. It had been one of our favorite cars ever. I have to say Mercedes has won us over as future customers - put the wife into a CLK550 now which is great, but it is not going to be able to replace the E55

U will surely miss the power of the BEAST.

When the warranty is up, or is close I worry about what might go wrong and cost big bucks. That is not to say it would happen but it could. For instance, we had both the left and right rear window regulators go out on our E-320. The first one was under warranty and the second one wasn't. Amazing, how many times did we put the rear windows down? Very few. But things go wrong - thus warranty is a good thing.

I hope that you're able to find comfort in your 911T, particularly since it's a 997 and has that cushy MB luxury ride. Okay, maybe not MB cushy but certainly better than the 996.

Wow, you lease guys are amazing. Can't imagine handing someone the keys and walking away. That is some guts.
Hey, if you want in again, there's an E55 in Houston for 39K. Higher mileage and an 03, but for 39K, you could snag it and get back in the game. Then again, no warranty soooooooo.....
Just an idea....sorry again about your loss.

we considered buying it outright, but the numbers did not make sense and we wanted a convertible. The 997TT certainly takes the sting out of it but still, it will be missed

We drove the E55 in the "sport" suspension mode always. The "normal" mode of the 997TT suspension is comparable to that - not too harsh, similar also to a stock E36M3 ride
