That was one of the first things I did...

Its gonna peel on you after quite a few heat cycles. You are best to bring the thermotec up over the top lip of the airbox and fold it over so that the top airbox cover will bolt down and hold the thermotec in place. A little crazy glue under the thermotec helps too..

Also, if you didnt prep the plastic with rubbing alcohol to clean off the surfaces, the thermotec will peel even sooner.

Other than that, LOOKS GREAT!!!

I know cooler air = more HP, but goes thermo the airbox really help on performance as the air is being compressed into the intake?
Just want to know if its worth the time/work.

How did you remove the lower airbox?

BTW, nice polished intake manifold

for the next poster its just an easy little job. every little bit helps. and yes those intakes certainly are shiny.

I did mine also and yes it really does help. You need to make sure you do the intake tubes and the Y tube going to the TB for it to help.

The air spends more time and heats up more running throught the air boxes, unless you do both you probably want see much of a difference. I didn't dyno my car after but I had made 5 or 6 trips to the track before and the same after and all of my later runs are better by a .1 or more.

'03 G500, '13 G63, '17 GLS63,
I had it on for awhile and took it off when it started peeling off, even after thoroughly prepping the surfaces. Never noticed a difference performance-wise.
