Gap between hood and headlights

Is it my imagination or do some E55's seem to have a prominent (large) gap in the lines between the hood and headlights? Some seem to be worse than others. Is it some body panel alignment issue or possible accident damage?

i know this seems funny. But i did also, then i made sure i shut my hood harder

If you dont shut your hood hard enough, it doesnt latch all the way down.... Try it and get back

I meant "prominent" (rather large) gap but this picture above is quite tight. Also, I don't own the car but it's one I was interested in purchasing and saw a picture. I see some variance between cars and will have to investigate further.

Vader, I also see a gap on your driver side small light just as my car does. I have been thinking about fixing it. Is this a common issue for our E55?

I don't know if it's the lighting or the angle of the picture, but it looks like the passenger side gaps are larger than the driver's side. Also the passenger side lights look to be misaligned. Again it could just be the picture, but I would look further into it to see if there was any damage repair to the car. Good luck.

I thought the gap on mine was a bit much when I got it. I had them adjust it and now it's better. Probably just variances in materials and poor fit from people who just don't care when they send them out the door. Hard driving over time could loosen it up some to.

I had this too! i was pretty paranoid about it, then a Porsche Cayenne reversed into me at v slow speed. I took it in and had it realigned and now its as it was when i bought it. But i still think my passenger side (drivers side for you guys has a SLIGHTY larger gap. As mentioned, closing the bonnet firmly can help, but after a drive it seems to go back. Could it be the torque of the car causing a twist and making the gap open up? This was common on a lot of older V8 Aussie cars, the things would always be lopsided, lol.
