ASP Pulley Owners for E55- Satisfied or not?
Issues addressed:
-the increased boost compared to other tuner pulleys that may cause more stress
-intake air temp is higher and supercharger shutsdown when constant WOT is applied
BUT
for those who have installed ASP pulleys, are you satisfied with their product?

.............there isn't even a question. The negative theories you here are from representatives of vendors who sell the more expensive ones.

Never had a shut down yet - but its winter - so plan to do cooling upgrades in summer if (when) needed.
Cost was good - fitting was straight forward
love it

The IC upgrade is a definite and now I wonder if that, along with the ASP pulley isn't the best route?
The -10c mod is not a substitute, but rather an enhancement to the IC upgrade.
The factory wants you to run pretty hot for emissions, but cooler makes more power.
I would do the -10c mod whether I did the IC mod or not.

The pulley runs 100% true and the water pump reduction pulley is a quality piece although the holes do not line up 100% you may need to file them slightly - which is easily done.
Performance is clearly obivous with no ECU or anything else. IAT's are obviously higher but no shut down experienced yet - but as has been said it is winter. In summer this could be problematic without a better cooling package. We shall see...
Most modern ECU's go out of cold range after 45 secs and some are set around 140 degrees. Low oil temps NOT coolant temps will affect wear in the motor. Todays lower "W" weight oils do not have flow issues or sludge issues of the 80's. So take advice of the nay sayers and experts a bit tongue in cheek. The temps are for emissions NOT performance.
Anyway my car goes the dyno this Thursday for baseline and ASP Pulley and then dyno again for the results.
