HI,
I HAVE HEARD A RUMOUR OF THE E 63 HAVE NOT LIVE UP TO WAT IT SAYS ON PAPER ABOUT THERE (BHPS),SO MERCEDES ARE RECALLING THE E55 IN, TO DO A REFLASH TO THE ECU TO SLOW IT DOWN ,SO WEN U TEST DRIVE THE E63, IT THEN WILL FEEL MUCH FASTER
PLEASE LET ME KNOW WILL MERCEDES DO THAT??

my car was one of many that lost 50-65hp from the recall.
search "recall", "reflash", "ecu" and such and you'll find all the information you want and then some.

as far as being blacklisted, i know you were kidding but i'm not when i tell you that you have no idea how true that really is, or at least was.

How can you prove this loss of Horsepower? I figure the only way would be pre and post Dyno. I'm thinking its lawyer time!

When I experienced the ECU reflash problem, Mercedes dealer agreed to a dyno test to determine if there was truely a loss of power (supercharger wasn't even working!!!) and was then overruled by MB USA, so don't count on Mercedes agreeing to any dyno tests. They did finally agree there was a problem and replaced ECU and eventually pulley. After several hundred miles car is now even more powerful than before reflash. I have never seen such a variation in performance in a car before. I truely believe their is +/- 50 HP lurking under the hood depending on how the car is tuned.
