Well I'm the guy who said "Not for me". Interesting that this thread is active as I just called regarding the status of my Flint Gray car on order. It will be a few days late (my current car is due to return on 3/17). However I was told that the exact same car with PANO will arrive a week earlier and I could take it for the same price. Hmmmmmm.

That's all you needed to say, don't waste your money. It looks cool on light colored cars but in terms of function it is really just a novelty to impress rear seat passengers. Mine did squeak on occasion but it was never annoying. I am not a sunroof guy either I never use it, so for me the Pano was a waste. Only the 2004's have the solar panel, and the rear glass doesn't open, I don't see the appeal.

I have it on my 04 and love it. I wouldn't buy another MB without the pano option. It looks good on silver or whitle cars and the sunroof opening is bigger. I would say another thing to consider is more people prefer it than not. That should help with resale when the time comes if you decide to sell it yourself. Last thing, my sunshade did have a squeek or rattle about 6 months into ownership but the dealer fixed it and it hasn't came back?

Pano or not
I have an '04 E55 white with the pano roof, '07 trunk panel trim and taillamps, tinted windows. IMO white or silver with pano are the best colors. Yes, the creaking does indeed come back. I've had mine repaired twice already and I have 21,000 miles. The creaking comes and goes but I would still buy another with the option. Love the looks and people comment on it all the time.

Pano roof is the best feature, that's partially why i fell in love with the w211 body. imo i think it looks great on any color, make my car look alot lower that it actually is I also love the ambient lighting feature at night.
Jangy, why do you hate the pano roof so much? never had noises from mine. so much nicer than a regular "boring" sunroof. i'm sure if you had one you would love it.....

I think all 211s have ambient lighting Basically the forward and aft dome lights have rings around them that softly glow at night. And the floor is lit just enough that you can see your shoes again front and rear. Inside door openers are lit too. Nice soft glow inside (my wife likes that too)
