03 RRE Evo, 06 E55
Long live DSMs and evos and of course the 4g63/4g64....it's given us so much over the years. Quite a shame on the evo X, going to be be awhile before we can see the capabilities of this car.

They are very popular in England with there 500,600,700,800,900 hp EVO's.
I understand they have a pretty descent following with Evo owners over there in the UK,Jamaica W.I,Austrailia, and different countries in the Carribean.

I don't understand why some of you guys are surprised. The formula for making a turbo car like an EVO obliterate any AMG or ///M car is extremely simple:
Large diameter piping + lots of fuel + big turbo = FAST.
Don't think because you spent a lot of money on a car that it should be faster than everything else, that's ignorant. EVO's are more of a sports car than your E55, or my M5, sorry but its true.

Yeah, and rwd cars putting down huge amounts of torque at early rpms spinnin their wheels in place while these turbo awd imports blast off like a bat out of hell makes you do what? Seriously people, just give respect where it's due and let it go, the e55 is far from the definition of being sporty in any shape or form...and no matter what you drive, there will always be something faster, so let the arguments end there too.

there's a big difference between being sporty and being a sports car and the e55 EASILY meets the criteria for the former...although i believe the term muscle car better describes us.

Props to EVO from a new E55 owner/car enthusiast
While it is an unattractive car, it unfortunately one of the fastest Japanese imports at the moment. It would eat an E55 on a tight turn track. Find the Topgear video of the special euro offered(modded) EVO vs. Lambo and some might can gain a little respect for the japanese pocket racer.
Would I take a 500hp version as my daily driver, no. Track car, probably.
Soon we will see threads like this about the upcoming Skyline.

Guys...in video title its says Evo has 400WHP...So its not hard to beleive that this rice rocket can blow away stock e55...
From my experince on reg road 1/4 racing where E55 cant hook up as well as 4wd cars...Any Evo with over 350HP can beat stock E55 in 1/4 mile...rolling start they loose badly...
I treid many times with many diff moded Evos and Subarus...with my car stock 55 and not stock...
As for C6 ZO6 well all depends on a lauch of course but from my experience K2 E55 can beat stock C6 ZO6 in 1/4...

Also the 11.40 on up 11.50, 11.60 ect.. have every mod known to man and then some, 2 heat exchangers, VRUS throttle bodies, Quaife diffs, bigger different intercoolers, the list is mighty fukin' long.
Point is the E55k is damned kool but hardly the same car that rolled outta the factory, hell it's literally rebuilt w/cams, heads, TB, etc..
BONE STOCK MANUAL C6 Z06 will still beat it, W/GOOD DRIVER, all these silly races w/guys in Cali going "Oh I was only 1 car length behind my friend in his brand new Z06" most people can't drive worth spit on manual trannys, that's the only reason.
ALSO all those low 11.35-12.20 times are run at SEA LEVEL TRACKS! big difference compared to the rest of the country, and yes Rangers C6 Z06 10.85 w/drag radials (only mod, was run at 1 of these SEA LEVEL TRACKS)
Point is you wont see any K4 or Renn5 E55 blowing by or trailing by 1-3 lengths behind C6 Z06's in California or other states that don't have sea level tracks, when running against a good m6 driver.
It's becoming a lost art, and very few have it, or practice enough, to be competitive w/modern 5-7 speed autos w/**** loads of power be it heavy or not, point and click leaves little room for error in all these street races.
Don't get me wrong NO E55k bashing in stock form it's an awesome ride but hardly competion for the new C6 Z06 stock for stock w/obvious competent C6 Z06 M6 driver at the wheel, otherwise it's ez pickin's for an alert modded E55k! no doubt, but nothing to get worked up over like I see on countless threads here, "Oh I hung w/new C6 Z06 my e55k4 is a brute! Naaa the Z06 owner can't drive the damned thing end of story! he should beat you hell nearly the same power and 1,000lbs less

And this video was from a 40+ mph roll so no traction excuses
Here you go E55 rolls w/and gets walked pretty good by a Subi legacy has 417rwhp and 409rwto E55k K2-K-3? has 475 rwhp 536rwto

I don't doubt you, but the simple fact is there much, much, harder to drive.
Ever seen some of the varied mag test times w/new C6 Z06? there all over the place from 11.70 - 12.40's and some of these mag guys are decent drivers, # 1 Torque Management implemted by GM really hinder the entire C6 line-up # 2 the RUN-CRAP tires are horrible, like skate board wheels, I had to get new tires for my reg C6, NON run-flat please, amazing difference, ride softness, comfort, driver connection, grip, traction, are phenominal now..
Even w/all those weaknesses a skilled M6 driver will whip yur *** in a new Z06 period. sorry just gotta set the record straight no flaming meant. I read and apreciate your threads, videos

I had a 2.4 4g64 dsm that put down 500awhp on pump gas. It put down about 580awhp on race fuel. It wasn't cheap. It was a pain to drive. My AMG is slower but 100x better.
