Just Test Drove 1 for the first time...

WOW.

This is my first post here. Some of you may know me from some other car forums since I seem to go through a lot of cars. I've had 3 Porsches (1 being the 996 TT), an E60 M5 (sold after 8 months...), and Elise and some other fun cars, but anyway.... I drove the E55 today thinking it may be something I'm interested in...

WOW

Did I say WOW?

Anyway, I'm now considering one for my daily. I have an Acura RL ('06) now that I'm going to sell or trade for this beast.

I'm looking to get an '05 or so for near $60K. Is that reasonable without a ton of miles?

Also, can someone point me to a typical noob thread that answers noob typical questions? (prices to pay? what to look out for? what options are good? ipod solutions?) I searched and haven't found that thread.

Anyway, if some of my M5 friends see me here... Don't hate me for going to the dark side, but wow. The E55 is just a blast. I wasn't a big fan of SMG, and my wife likes an automatic... I like torque. And for a daily... man. This is one hell of a car.

Any input, advice, etc. is appreciated.

Hey Scott, I'm in Sugar Land

Welcome to MBworld.org, I hope you enjoy your stay.

Just watch out for early early model years, they are hell.

Get the evosport power packages and the IC upgrade, you'll be running 10's in no time.

Welcome to the board fellow Houstonian. Stick with an '05 or later and you should be fine. These cars are a blast (on my third one).

Mine is an 04 and I have loved it. (I've also enjoyed the free service. )

Some of us are leaders (03 & 04) and some are just followers (05 & 06).

Don't shy away from the "early years" and pick up a CPO with an extended warranty, in any event.

I have an 03 and haven't had any issues with it so far. Don't be afraid of the "early years" just make sure it has some warranty and decent mileage. The best vehicle I have owned to date

I also have an 03 and have had no issues other than an intercooler pump replaced. Models produced after march 03 had numerous upgrades and are more reliable. Also, some features disappeared over the years that the early models had....

Wow... 6speeders are everywhere.

Akara, I saw yours for sale on 6speed. i love black, but don't want black.

Sandoval, beautiful man! I love your garage. I don't think I've seen a pic of your garage before.

E55Jay, I may take you up on that. I need lots of info at this point.

Newton, I'm near Sugar Creek & 59.

Guys... what are the options I should make sure the car I buy has? (not including mods... I want to buy a stock car)
