Advice / Input on these wheels

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...8590382&rd=1,1

Fellas- I am looking at putting new rims on the car as I dont think the 18s are big enough and fill out the weelewell. However, I really want to keep the 'stock' look as much as possible. I'm also concerned with ride quality and think that if I keep it "+1" I'll be ok.
I found this set on eBay but dont know anything about the seller or the brand (or lack thereof)

The ones on the link are 20's and I'd like to stick to 19s as the car is a DD and there are too many f'ing potholes in Seattle
Thanks for the input guys.

I think someone has posted a question on this forum before about these wheels. I think the consensus was that they look good but are too heavy. Adding weight (and diameter) will generally hurt performance. If you look around you may be able to find the thread, but I think that sums it up. They do look good though. Good luck.

I like them, and Im guessing they're for ur E55.If Im gonna spend money on rims I would go with 20s. U might wanna upgrade again down the line if u go with the 19s and 20s arent that bad of a ride on a 4 door.

hey whats up, i accually have a brand new set im waiting to be delived to me and i am putting them up for sale they are those rims in 19" for my e55 staggered and are the sl65 finish with the polished lip. the reason i am selling them is because i have a set in black on my car now and the dealer ruined 2 of them so i am getting them to buy me new ones but i am just going to put a diffrent set of wheels on my car i have had these on for a year and love them.

They look like replica's... i'd go SL65 rims. A little bit more pricey but piece of mind....

I was checking out these replica's. Two things I don't like about them. IMO they are too dark and I don't like where they placed the AMG badge. Otherwise these are nice.

In addition, those plastic rivets are painted black, would look more real if rivets were left unpainted.

Listen i have them on my car, the guy selling them his name is Al. Tell him Nick from New york with the Silver E55 sent you, im the only guy he ever sold the hyper gray 20's to for W211 E55, He gave me a excellent price.

The amg badge is a vinyl sticker that doesnt have to be used. Another great thing about the wheels is he doesnt paint them, he purchases the wheel then has his guy powder coat them. So thats a plus for me, and if your gonna listen to the guy that said go SL65 wheels dont cause you will love the way 20's fill out the wheel well for less then half the $. BESTDEALSONWHLS.COM is his website

If you like them buy them.
Just check what the load rating is and what 'approvals' they have. eg. downunder we have ADRs - Australian Design Rules which ensure they meet specifications for intented use. The Germans have similar - check what you have in the USA.

Yes 19's and 20's have the same sidewall height but you have to consider the overall wheel diameter......a 20 would add 1 inch to the diameter......which is why you should run a 25 series tyre and a 30 on a 19.

If you run a 30 on a 20 inch rim the overall diameter is almost 1.5 inches more than stock!....which would lead to speedo inaccuracy and possible esp problems.

18's offer the best performance....and 20's the look!!......19's are a compromise......offer a bit of both.....also, get OEM, a real AMG should have real AMG wheels.....not replicas!!!

That is just my opinion though!

It isn't just possible. You won't be able to take a turn at any speed without ESP killing things. 20s suck!!

Nick, have you had the car out in the rain at highway speeds?

The reason that I ask is the barrels on the rear wheels look like they may hold water and there are some wheels (HRE on 911's?) that have severe shaking problems because of that water retention.

my ecu is tweaked anyways so that dosnt bother me. also he was talkin about ride comfort not performance. i would never run a 25 series tire on a car as big as ours you will run threw rims or have a serious balance problem. great point about the AMG you have one so keep it that way.

I officially put my Bremmas up for sale in the classifieds. I found a great deal on a set of forged wheels. The Bremmas look great, quality is superb. My factory AMG wheels had a ****ty paint job very thin paint. The bremmas are powdercoated. I do recommend them to those looking for a wheel that looks sweet and does not break the bank.

What does tweaking your ecu have to do with ESP? You don't actually think they have learned how to tweak that, do you? Same applies for speedo error, but that isn't a performance concern. I agree with not going to 25 series, but don't see how all the 20" runners justify rolling sucha difference in diameter AND having performance mods .

i didnt even notice ESP i thought he said ECU. oops! i know 20s make my car slower do to weight and over all diameter. but i had to make a lil sacrifice on performance for looks what is just as important to me.i actually like looks even more than performance. i seriously think this car looks great. i know most of you think of them as sleepers and under cover but i notice them like if they were lambos.

I notice them as well and your car is what you want it to be: original, so I give you that.

I think they look awesome... I would just be worried about weight and quality (cracking, vibration, etc).

NEVER buy anything from Al at bestdealsonwhls.com. He is a fraud and sells replica wheels claiming they're oem and even ships them with the wrong tire size for your car. You're stuck with useless garbage and he won't stand behind it. He offered to refund my purchase, minus the $500 I've got in shipping and brokerag fees... But many he's done the same too says the money never comes or he refuses the return shipment so you're out even further plus you've still got the junk he sold you. AVOID. He also sells on eBay as greatdeals2460.
