997 turbo vs E55
couple days ago, there was me and my friend with his shiny new 997 turbo.
P had 6-speed manual and chrono sport package, and a guy who knows how to drive.
Then we started....
60-120 (mph) run, NO DIFFERENCE between these cars.
repeated that 5 times, NO DIFFERENCE.
after that E got heat-soaking problems and we repeated again 5 runs, P got 2-3 car lengths
under 60mph E got absolutely no chance, P is like flying in those speeds.
overall, we was very VERY amazed how this taxi (most common taxi here in Finland is brilliant silver E-class )could keep up with that real sport car
before somebody starts to talk some bs, my friend KNOWS HOW TO DRIVE and YES Sport button was pressed all the time (overboost-mode) and YES both cars was stock. (ok, snorkle-mod but that doesnt count anything) and YES P-car has enough miles.
and NO, this is NOT BS.
And today my friend was talking about EvoMS Stage 4 kit
Sorry for my bad english.
Ville

but still guys you remember that Gustav video, 997 was flying versus M5 and M6.
Whoever in this world is saying that K4 could be eaten by stock M5 or M6 or 997 Turbo, is talking straight bs. If (when ) i mod my car, 997 turbo is eating dust after me in highway speeds, under 60mph i have no chance the difference was SOOO big.
997 turbo is more sportier, nice to drive, much better brakes and so on. but still, its here around 100k USD more, and its not sedan.
Conclusion - I love my E55 even more

Sorry for my bad Finnish and lack of ability to write or speak any other language at all.

Well, I've been playing around with the 997TT for the past couple of days. In sport mode (sport chrono), you let boost build up and launch and your basically invincible. I haven't taken the car over 80 yet, but from 0-80 I seriously doubt that any 55k can beat it. And yes, I used to drive the SL55 on a weekly basis and I've been in plenty of E55's. I believe you though since you said that this was on a roll. Nice work man!

Before 60mph E55 has NO CHANCE against 997 Turbo, but after 60mph especially after 100mph there is no difference between these cars. Even lightly modded E55 is faster than stock 997 Turbo in 60-120mph run. Thats just a pure fact.

I would....besides the fact that he brought the car back to Manhattan Motorcars yesterday and sold it because he couldn't take the harsh ride. I'm still pretty pissed that he is replacing the 997TT for a 750Li lol.
If you would've contacted me last week I would've set something up, sorry. I was planning on doing some comparisons with it too, but I had no idea my father would sell the thing.
He told me that he believes the SL55 isn't any slower than the Turbo on parkways, only off the line due to AWD.
Now that I think about it, I woudn't be suprised if some of you guys who get very low 12's and high 11's at the strip would be able to launch an E55 and beat the Turbo in a 0-100+
I've been in modded E55's and there is no doubt it would take the Turbo on a highway run.
