Also you say do a burnout, can we have more details, such as how long, and do you hold it in first gear in M? As in my '05, i cant ride the brake and do a burnout at the same time, the ecu cuts all power and it bogs straight down. My only option is to floor it and let it spin up as i pull away (unless i use dyno mode)
I hold the burnout as long as the tires spin. Once I feel the ECU cutting power (which happens three seconds into the burnout), I let out and do another one. I think being in the waterbox helps by allowing the burnout to go longer.

I don't know if the rule at e-town is slick tired cars only, but the spotter was helping me line my rears up. He must have seen that they were regular street tires.

I don't think I am bringing water into the lane. My car has been hooking well.

I think now that Englishtown is enforcing a rule that anything under 11.5 requires a cage. Not sure if that is true. If it is, then it would keep me from going all out like Sleeper and others.
The 11.5 rule is true.. I have seen someone banned first hand because of this rule. Keep in mind that they are checking helmets at the inspection station very closely now as well. The guy at the inspection point told me that these Mercedes are running too fast for the non-regulated helmets. (there goes the sleeper status). He even told me that the sheriffs have begun checking helmets in the staging lanes on occasion.
For some reason, they are really cracking down at Englishtown.
I can't wait to be banned....

They almost made me buy one...just great, but they gave me a break yesterday and said next time I will have to buy one.

So when are we heading back?

I did run..though had to leave early. My run was 12.899 @ 112.5mph. It was my first time down the 1/4 with the 63. The numbers are deceiving though.
My 60' was horrible...2.109 and the car starting in 2nd gear!!! Left it in 'S' mode with traction off. Found out that the oil lamp will blink until you reach 80 degrees Celsius and even in 'S' mode the car will start in 2nd until you give it at least 80% throttle, then it will start in 1st..pretty strange. Anyway,
the power is there, it just needs to be put down better. My car is completely stock (did not remove grey filters...yet and no reflash) If I can get down to a 1.8-1.9 60', you are looking at 12.3-12,5 @ 116-118. Oh and also, I weighed the car after the run, 4,550 lbs with me in it. ( I could drop a few lbs too) I also did no burn out to warm the tires, just went to the line and floored it. Like I said , the power is there...we just have to find a way to put it down better.

There is no spare in my car. All I have is fix-a-flat, a small air compressor and road side assistance. I guess srt engineers are trying to save weight and achieve 50/50 weight distribution.

Hey, thanks for posting and it's nice to see the E63s running at the track.

I will tell you that I do not believe your trap speed will improve (under the same conditions) by "putting your power down better."

Your trap speed will improve for the following reasons: 1. Your motor generates more HP (removing the filters, ecu mod, better headers, etc.) or, 2. your car loses weight.

To illustrate my point, my car's best trap speed is 124.6 mph and it came on a 12.8 sec. run with a 2.4 sec 60ft. time. I obviously could not get the power down (I'm a bad driver) but even this did not affect the power that the car was generating.

P.S. Albert, I suck but I will keep trying.

Cool

Nice first run 05VEMON. I will be taking my 63 in the next couple weeks. I think you are right about the et's. My 63 just passed a thousand miles and it's starting to wake up.

Will - thanks for posting the video of the f430.

I was able to darken and scan the slips as a PDF file, but I can't post it here beause PDF is not a valid format for attachments. I will send them to fikse and maybe he can post them on dragtimes.

Thanks for representing the East Coast!
I can't wait to hit up e-town. I wonder what I'll hit in the CLK with a 100 shot.
I'll also see if I can bring the 997TT out for some fun...

Yeah when that and the cage thing happens you will be limited to track rentals.

Did you e-mail Fikse your time slip to post on dragtimes.

Not at e-town. 11.5 you need a roll bar and they will let you run during regular track events. Actually that day I seen one car run 8.7 and 2 vettes ran 9.9. Any lower than 10.0 you need a nhra license, a full cage with numerous other safety equipment.

I just did. Knowing him, they will be up in a few minutes. You know that I still won't be on the first page of E55 slips on dragtimes.

Hey Enzom,

Could you please stop posting those 'SLOW' times...lol.

It's so amazing for a stock 4 door family sedan to run times like a super exotic. There should be a law to ban such acts...

See you at e-town on the 14th. Hopefully you will need a roll bar after your 1st run....11.4

Oh yeah, I will have my regular camera person so all the passes will be recorded .

I am sorry, Will. If it is any consolation, I don't think she has a better time in her without mods. So you won't have to look at another slip from me.

I just made an appointment with my dentist for that day, but if the weather is good, I'll reschedule.

My cousin with the F430 wants me to run his car for him next time to see how I do. How can I refuse a request like that?

Man I would be happy to sit in it. Your a lucky man.

That was the best looking f430 I ever seen ( I see them every weekend at captree state park). I would have never thought that color would look good on a ferrari...I was so wrong.

My cousin has always been into that maroon/burgundy color and has almost always had something in that color. Until recently, his was the only spider in the US in that color.
