Lack of Launch Control (LC) in US had handicapped the M5/6 by quite a bit from a dig. Also, the gearing on the M5/6 7-speed SMG is much better than the E63, which is literally like the old 5 speed with 2 over drive gears tagged on to the transmission.
However, the V10 in the M5/6 on this side of the pond is definitely no slouch anyways. The M5 vs E63 debate is not going to end any time soon, but you can't go wrong with either car and just pick the one that you like.
For engine tone and exhaust note, I think the M5 with Eisenmann and secondary cat delete is just out of this world. It literally sounds like an F1 car driving by.

Seemslike there were too many cars on the road, thats why the E63 was riding behind the M5. I'm sure there's more videos out there E63 vs M5. Good video by the way...

Raced my friend's M5 lots of times and I don't believe what I saw on that video.
Stock 63 vs Chipped+no charcoal M5, I can still gain at least half a body...
Now that he got the Evosport pulley installed it was him that gain half a body from me...
Both race are from a dig.

Guys, what I wanted to highlight was the IMMENSE DISPARITY between the two cars. The E55 v E63 is a debate in itself. If for a moment, we accept that these two cars are equal from say 0-120mph (for example), how in the name of all that is holy, can the M5 make the E63 look like an E320 CDI?
Granted, the gearing on the M5 is very aggressive and above triple-digit speeds, you will see the M5 fly, but the results are simple unbelievable. Whilst I don't much care for the outcome, (in my opinion, both E55-E63-M5 are so close in real-world performance, the difference is negligible) the way the M5 put speed on the Mercedes was just incredibly unbelievable, let alone the acceptance of the outcome by M fans.

i'm finding it more than coincidence that all of the m over amg victories come from the rest of the world while here in the u.s. it's just the opposite. there's either something very different between row and u.s. m cars or they're very dishonest across the pond.

Mikey, I saw no "63" badge on the side, nor the two front louvers in the valance, in front of the wheel opening. All most all of these M5 kill AMG you can't identify the car, and we all know how many impostor AMGs are out.

I think its a 550 too, look at the front bumper... I think i see those silver lines on the fog lights.... which E63 does NOT have.

I think these races on the street always end with the winner who's gotten the slight jump or is simply the better driver. I don't understand why people get so upset to see an M5 win. Its just the way it goes sometimes. It doesn't mean the E55 is slow nor the M5 when its opposition wins. The E55 is generally faster down low and mid while the M5 has a little more advantage up top. So things balance themselves out... sort of. When there are abnormal differences I know its like WTF but its all good sometimes it happens. The M5 guys say the same thing when they get shut down by car lengths by an E55

ok this might be off topic but i just want to say that the M owners are just ignorant in accepting the fact that our cars r just better or as good as their Ms. it's just stupid talking about handling on a 4 door sedan at this size, if u want handling go buy evolution or something else. on the speed part, who cares, both r fast cars, it' just that our 55s are faster

Slow down there, my friend. I'm an owner of an M6, does that mean I'm ignorant too? You should understand that Gustav was the one who started all these BS, and it's not fair to say EVERY AND ALL M cars owners are ignorant.
Anyway, back to the subject. The E in the video does look like one equipped with sport pack, so it's just another trouble maker who wants to start another debate between the M5 & E63.
