Dealer scratched my rim and blew my tire

I was in to pick up my car from some warrantied repairs, and as I drove out ..a mechanic spotted my rear tire was flat and told me to stop. I then realized that my tire was flat and my rim was scratched.

They said they will have my service advisor check it out the first thing in the morning.....

I think they will replace my tire because its pretty easy to prove that they were not flat when i pulled the car in...but my RIM...

I know they will deny my rim was scratched...anyone have experience like this?

What should I do at this point?

Were you at Herb Chambers? I know they do a visible check for damages and scratches before the car gets serviced. So you should be ok I think.

Derrick, sorry to hear about that.

At HC, the people that are in white lab coats are supposed to fill out a yellow form after a walk around and notice any visible damages on the car. You can demand to see that form with you SA and that should be plenty of proof that the rims are not scratched.

E55 AMG
Make sure they don't repair the rim, demand a new rim.
They should give it to you???....not really in their interest to upset you.

you don't fill out or sign that form, but the people that take the keys away from you should have filled out a form and hand it over to your SA.

You dont have to ***** him out Derrick- just be real matter-of-fact and stick to your guns that your car went in there perfect and that you expect it to come out the same way.. I can NOT tell u how many times the dealer has done something stupid to my cars. The SA and Tech are usually great and very professional but the Dealership hires complete phuk-ups to **** cars down and move them around and hence this type of bull****! trust me, if you took one of their loaners and brought it back with a scratch, they'd shove it up your A$$ nice and deep so dont feel bad. get your stuff fixed bro...

Well. Here is a thing. When dealers ask you to replace the rim because it is damaged, the damaged rim usually stays with the dealership. Then the dealership sends out the damaged to a place called RIMPRO in NH. They fix them and stock them back in the inventory for sales. So you can either ask them to fix it through RIMPRO, which comes regualrly to pick up damaged wheels to HC(MB Somerville location only, I think) or you buy a new one.
The cost is about 250 per wheel. Hope it helps.

My dealer curbed my wheel and had absolutely no problem getting the lip repolished. Not only that but they were more than willing to have it done wherever I wanted the work performed and pick up the tab. That is the beauty of having polished lips... very easy to repair.

I had the same experience. To make a long story short, the dealership bought me a new wheel and 2 new tires. I insisted on the second tire because the damaged tire had a lot of wear and I did not want one old tire and one new tire on the same axle. The service manager said that they had security cameras in the service bay and the action was caught on tape. You might inquire if the dealership has closed circuit camera coverage and it might provide usable evidence.

Shouldn't be a problem at all. Dealers go to great lengths to protect themselves againt false damage claims.
That's the reason for the walk around, when you first drive the car into the facility.

Its two scratch marks on the rims, pretty noticeable...

They repaired the tire by sticking plugs into it

and they originally said they wont be responsible for the rim..and I was like wtf..it came in perfect and i expect it to come out perfect...

Their arguement was that they didnt work on my rim or install tires..so theres no way they could have scratched the rim...and I said that there are many reasons to why the rims are scratched and that just because you didnt install tires to my car means you didnt scratch my rim..

I also whipped out the "yellow inspection sheet" and they said they dont put every single detail in that sheet....

finally they were like ..ok coz we are a high line dealership...we will repair it for you...but NOT coz we scratched ur rim... and the next time you come in..your car will be under a microscope for pre inspection...and I was like..."yah...good idea...you better do that to prevent future disputes.."

and he heard it over the phone as "prevent future abuse" and he got ticked off and got so mad saying he dont abuse cars and I just calmly explained it was bad reception....

so the cars back to the shop next week for rim repair...

K40 Laser Jammer sucks
Blinder Xtreme M20 is the better one.

There are reviews online if you google them...
I've tested both of them and my Blinder responds the instantly while the K40 responds at a much closer range..

the reason why I have the K40 is because it came with the car when I bought it
