[QUOTE=vrus;2906891]Paddles are due to arrive any day now... We are waiting ...
...if the paddles never arrive, can we all just buy the boxes? I will have mine mounted on the dash.
Keep up the good work Victor. This one is a marathon....

I don't think there ever was an issue as this is a mechanical not an electronic conversion. From a mechanical standpoint, the early button housings are the same as the later years but the electronics work differently. The VRP conversion is the one easy way to get paddles in an '03/'04 car.

E55 AMG
Are these available yet for the E55? I went to the VRP website and the item listing says:
No mention of the E.
This would be a great modification. If there's one thing wrong with these cars, it's those stupid buttons. Every time my wife drives the car, she ends up hitting the downshift button by mistake.

2003 E55 AMG
Just to be clear guys... the paddle shifters I am waiting for are the first production run which is for all the cars EXCEPT the E55..
The E55 we just started on a few weeks ago when I finally snagged a complete steering wheel off eBay that we could harvest the buttons from. We need to make a mold to reproduce the base of the buttons. Once that is done, we will be making a run of E55 paddles.
I am still waiting for the paddles to arrive from Asia. I will see if I can get an update tomorrow to find out exactly where they are.

Wanted to post another update... Finally... EVERYTHING is done for the first paddles (the non-E55 ones).. The piano black and CF are both done, the packages are finished and everything is in transit. As soon as they touch down, I will put them into shipping boxes and get them out to you guys.
This has been the LONGEST, most trying project I've ever taken on.. I can't believe how something as small as a paddle shifter has required this much time and effort..
I didn't want to give up and wanted to make sure I saw it through. I made it more complicated when I added the packaging into the equation, but, at this point, I didn't want the project to end in a half-***'d manner. Presentation is everything...
My many thanks to all you saints who pre-purchased these and waited alongside me for the project to finish.
Here are some more pics of what you will receive.
