What's funny is that it is not really tuning... it is a program that they simply load. It's not like the car sits on the dyno and while they tweak the ecu file to improve the program.

Pricing is based on supply & demand. As in any business, there are costs related R&D, marketing, advertising, etc. In this case, the gains are actually VERY impressive compared to pricing. R&D for the 65's was very lengthy and time consuming...part of the reason the price on 65's is so expensive.

No one seems to want to pay for the R&D on any parts any longer. Companies need to turn a profit to be around and actually sell parts.

There are not many people out there getting 63 ecu upgrades so they need to recover costs and turn a profit on a small number of customers.

The car cost 95k and the ecu is 1700? In my book thats a deal!

What's the guess how long it really takes for a couple of guys on a computer with access to a dyno to come up with better performance? Can't be more than a couple of weeks.

those gains are good.. but I'm not sold.

Vishnu a much smaller tuner of Mitsu, Subis, Bmw's retails thier procede with software for about $1300.

that is with an onbaord mini computer.

natural aspired engines need better breathing and better exhaust and tuning to make those gains.

From vadims early research on the charcoal filter.. I bet this ML63 had the charcoal filters removed and picked up a few more ponies with the tuning.

if that is the case... its not a good deal.

that is my humble opinion as a previous customer of the above mentioned tuner.

Well, I took out my charcoal filters between runs on the dyno recently, and saw almost no difference... So I'm not sold on the change there...

Also, I'll retract my earlier post and say that if I can get those results in my E63, I'd be interested...
