The car had evil acceleration when I test drove it with my salesman and two buddies in the car... (To think that I test drove a P-car that same day and my friends said hands down, the E55 was much faster based on their butt dyno..)
I am just curious as to how much quicker cams will make the car... 1/10, 2/10 and what the trap speed increases will be.. I am not questioning that cams will add hp, but am just wondering how much.. 5,10,15hp, etc..

I don't have cams nor will I be getting them until I see a dyno. Nor will I be removing my primary cats until I see before and after dynos and time slips. Just my 2 cents.

i just got off the phine with a very smart guy and he explained that the cams give 15hp but more importantly it moves some of the power from the low to the mid to top end. basicaly the car will have a chance to get moving before all the TQ hits it. makes sence and would be a plus for me since i cant get the wheels to stick anyways.

Been told that SLR cams are a bit more agressive then Kleemann/Shrick Cams, so thay could make a little more power...With SLR Cam you need some spacer and with Shirck Cams you just plug and play...

e55 russ- just get the slr cams from russian mb dealer. they are only about $2k usd and then get spacer from chiromikey. he can send it thru the us mail. it is not very large. that with throttle body, asp pulley, ecu should be fine.

Thanks...but there are some fitting promlems as I have been told you have to driil some thing ins the engine amd od some other mods....
I think it would easier just to get Shrick Cams...If I recall correctly thier opening is 258/262 or 268 and valve lifting is 10.8...
stock is something like 238 or less...

machining .05 off the cam cost $45. drilling in cam gear cost nothing. do it yourself, no big deal. what is the cost of the shrick cams? the screws are just to have new bolts to hold cams when you make the swap for new torquing.

just so clarify, slr cams idle the same as oem and you don't need new cam gears so you do save a bit of money there (you can use the oem ones).
