This was my first time at the dragstrip, completely stock only removed charcoal filter, temp outside was around 88 degress, and it was only a 1/8 mile track.
1st run slamed the throttle
reaction 0.372
60ft 2.117
660ft 5.734
mph 85.39
1/8 8.653

2nd run didnt slamed it but hit throttle kinda fast
reaction 0.492
60ft 2.469
660ft 6.101
mph 85.23
1/8 9.023

3rd run slamed the throttle
reaction 0.454
60ft 2.137
660ft 5.765
mph 85.07
1/8 8.689

4th run slamed throttle
reaction 0.414
60ft 2.110
660ft 5.743
mph 84.75
1/8 8.680

5th run put on dyno mode
reaction 0.369
60ft 2.178
660ft 5.830
mph 84.91
1/8 8.767

Could it be the 88 degree temp what making my car slow?

it could be the temps but many others are having a difficult time getting decent track numbers out of the 63.

i sure wish some of the dyno queen 63's would get out to the track soon!!!

Any stock 55’s have times at California Speedway? My best time there was 13.12 at 109 on contie's. My 60 was 2.12, 1/8 was at 8.58 at 85.43. I think it's a slow track or perhaps the e63 is slow. Please post your stock 55 times at Cal speedway.

Reaction times have nothing to do with it.The 60ft's and low MPH numbers are whats bad.60ft's are killing his et's,the low mph could be from a few different things.Weather, altitude or low hp from car.Any or all of those can be a huge factor.

Correct. The timer doesnt start until you break the light beams. You can sit there as long as you want or even leave before the light turns green and red light,it wont change the et or mph readings of your run.

No need for apologies here either.

Drag racing can be addicting so beware!

Screw the SL550. For the same money you can pick up a low miles '06 SL65.

Be patient and practice. My first drag was a 12.9 @ 112mph. After a few practices , I have her down to 12.6 @ 114
I didn't even remove my filters yet and just broke 2,500 miles so there is still some break-in time room. The 63 is plenty fast for a 4,600lb car..just keep at it!!

What kind of practice do u need? I thought all it was for a E63 was to slamed the throttle down on the last yellow till green.

Another thing is it could be only the new model e63 that are slow, Mines was manufatured 08/06 and dereks was also a new model. So everyone should post there dyno times, track times, AND manufactures date.

12.6 is slow at E-Town. There are stock 55's running at 11.9X there. This implies that the 55 is much faster than the 63. Of course this issue is still open, as I have not seen a 55 run faster than my slow times at Cal Speedway of 13.1 @ 109 (mind you I’m inexperienced and this was my first time at the track for some 20 odd years). If you have better stock 55 times at Cal Speedway please post. The general statements relative to times at different tracks is meaningless. As far as this run at e-town is concerned its proof that the 55 is faster (should be qualified with 55 times on the same day). However, I want some evidence at my local track, which I have not seen.

JohnnyE63 ......1. You could practice getting your 60'better
which will result in better trap times and slightly better
mph
2. My manufactures date is 8/06 so I guess I got any early production also.

Vader....When I weighed her it was 4,335(which included full tank of gas and baseball equipment in trunk)plus my body weight of 250 so total weight down the 1/4 was 4585...I rounded up to 4,600

If anybody has seen my previous attempts to scan my slips it borders on pathetic but here goes again.

Track times isnt that good.-e-town6.jpg

Few weeks back I posted a 12.7....Don't know why you would be skeptical about a .1 sec improvement. the mph is a 1.5 sec increase..also not out of the ordinary. You have to remember many of the E63 are not even properly broken in yet. My old '02 Z06 ran much better after about
5,000 miles. and yes I also agree talk is cheap. That is why I visit E-town. I try to get there at least once a month. I am just providing honest feedback with MY car.
