I took a ride up to GLD last night, even though temps were in the 80's.
Track prep was fair, and there were a lot of cars - the holiday weekend coming up seemed to have brought everybody out.
As I pull up to the gate, the nice lady looked at my ride : "What a pretty black car. Are you racing? There's a pretty orange car that just came through. You guys should race."
Well, the "pretty orange car" turned out to be a Roush Mustang with side-pipes, as well as my first race. My 12.43 @ 115.36 was enough to eclipse him by more than a second.
My worst R/T of the night was a .192, best a .007
There was a .083, .044, .139, and a .062 to round out the night. It's always nice to tree a slick-shod drag car.
Quickest pass of the night:
R/T - .062
60' - 1.809
330 - 5.162
1/8 - 7.915
MPH - 89.39
1000 - 10.287
1/4 - 12.278
MPH - 113.76
DA was about 1300 feet or so.
I drove around the water box, did a small burnout, and launched just off-idle. Rolling into the throttle seemed to do the trick.
This is my best pass on street tires (Toyo T1R) to date. I think with better atmospheric conditions and Drag Radials I could make an 11.99 pass.

Incredible on street rubber!
Super 60 ft and reaction time. Guy got beat by a comfy sedan!! They hate that , man do they hate that. Plus you are simply driving away, no tire changing, pumping, etc. I almost forgot my tires LOL, I pulled the stock 19" out of the trunk and leaned em on the fence. Started driving home "oh sh** my tires" 2 piece 1200.00 amg rims, on pirelli rosso's, oh no biggie!! IDIOT go get your tires LOL,
Nice run Mr. X

For example, if you leave 3 tenths sooner than a car who is only 2 tenths faster than you, the win goes to you by a tenth (even though their ET is less)
We were on a sportsman tree. You get three yellows in half-second intervals, followed by the green. A perfect leave used to be .500, but now it is .000. They show redlights with a negative number such as -.042.
Vader: You need to play hooky one of these Wednesdays !

Great time on street radials...
Not for anything but on stock tires my SL550 can easily pull a 1.9 60', but that only leads to a 13.4XX@104. My S55 could pull 1.8 60's.
