Any body/suspension difference between W211 AMG & Non AMG?

For wheel fitment, will any set of W211 wheels on a E55/E63 fit on a non AMG bodied car? (mine happens to be a 07 E550). I was under the impression they are the same body and suspension, so if a set of wheels fits on a E55, then they will fit on a non-AMG car.

thanks guys...

I think thats true (the E500/550 has airmatic suspension too). The reverse isn't true because of the bigger brakes on the AMG cars.

they will fit, however the suspension is more sport tuned on the amg (lower, stiffer) and the brakes are bigger. nothing smaller than 18 will fit an amg

The non amgs have slightly more room under there, since the fenders aren't rolled. The only thing to worry about when putting AMG rims onto a non-Amg one is ride height after. You may need to lower the 550 to ride properly, but you can get a RennTech Lowering Module for that.

Hey Jang

Not to be the nit pick around here but E55's have the same fenders as a E350. There is no fender rolling on a E55 compared to the stock cars.

Also, the E350 and E550 cars come with the same sized wheels and tires as AMG versions these days so the car should sit just fine with the upgraded items. The sport version of the non amg cars should sit very close to the AMG car but the AMG car will have stiffer calibration settings.

Maybe im reading to quickly but i think the wheels in question should work just fine.?.?

18 E63s Wagon 15 GL63 (sold), 10 Turbo TT MT, A36 Bonanza, 20 JLU Rubicon
you can also use the CLS AMG wheel on the E series... you will get 5mm offset that makes the car look more aggressive than a standard AMG E wheel.. also 8.5 F and 9.5 R width....

From what I understand the fenders are rolled on the E55. I think I read that on this forum. True or False?

Thanks

Both of my E55s came with rolled fenders. My '04 E500 just had the typical fender lip. Maybe I'm just lucky?
