Salvaged/Lemon Law E55, what are your thoughts???
#26
I decided to make the guy an offer of $27,000 for the car in question. His facial expression was that of someone who just got hit in the gut.... He bought the car, post-salvage. And overpaid for it.. For $27k, he is going to hang onto the car. Cant say I blame him....
The search continues.. thanks fellas...

Salvaged cars can be bargains but the line has to be drawn on how much you want to pay for a "junked" car. $27k is a lot for a "junked" car. Further, I would only purchase a salvaged car only if you purchased it directly from the auction, know what the exact damages were and what was done to restore it. Some sellers tend to skew the story of what really happened with the car to make a sale.
I've owned a good number of salvaged cars in the past (seven) and were purchased directly from auctions. Some were moderately damaged and some had ZERO damage. It depends on how much you trust the seller's story. For a car such as an AMG, get a clean titled car. Not worth the headache since there is no warranty to fall back on.
