love it

I remember when I was buying my 99 E55 I was looking at a one ... the 993TT was the only car that scared me.

Of course nowadays the little Beast scares me ocassionally!

Very nice Victor! Stunning! Just make sure you use Mahle pistons on that 3.8 conversion! I had the opportunity to drive a Andial 3.8 993tt back when my 3.6 was getting some mods, to say the least it was amazing and needed all of the AWD.

For me the aircooled Porsches provide a far better (raw) driving experience, a true enthusiast sports car. My 3.6t was a monster and was a handful at the limit. If you combine a single turbo, rwd, full boost at 3000 rpms(which produced 104 hp in 400 rpms), in a tight corner, with limited driver talent your ego got smacked around like one of Rick James Bit**es. You can't say that about the ever so gentle 996 or 997tt.

Plus they produce one of the nastiest sounds on the street. They just sound sooooo damn mean: Here's a sample of the beast: 94 3.6 Turbo Sound Clip Just the sound sent small children running for their mama.

Enjoy the new ride!!!!

Very Nice! Having owned quite a few air cooled turbo's and non turbo Porsche's including water cooled, I can honestly say the aircooled cars are something quite special. I don't know about modding as now a days I like them stock, but either way she's a peach.

Thanks to all for the kind words!

I missed my last 993TT so much when I sold it... Someone saw it at the shop and made me an offer I couldnt refuse.. The minute I deposited that cheque, I regretted the decision...

------------------------------

hahaha.. No no.. The E55 needs to get its fair share of attention also...

Its going to be challenging building both cars at the same time... But I will make sure that at least 1 of them is running while the other is under the knife... LOL..

Congrats on the sweet new ride. Don't wrap it around a tree.

I'll send you a PM with some info...

Hmm... that's what I swear he said to me.. unless he meant of his particular colour combination?? He got a orange/black one.. My other friend ordered a green/black...

Sorry if I passed along misinformation..

I am going to be doing a before/after dyno on the Orange/Black one because he wants me to put an ECU tune on it..

Anyway, congrats on a very clean 993

Thanks!

I can't leave well enough alone.. I've got a long laundry list of mods to put on it already... LOL..

That's the best part... Lots of power but it can go around corners like no one's business...

I'll post pics as I progress through the build.

Your car sounds like an absolute monster!!!! The 94 3.6 is one of my alltime favourites, but it was so damn twitchy to drive that it was scarey... It is the main reason I've watched the movie "Bad Boys" 32 times so far... LOL..

I had to show you guys this... I ordered a bunch of mods for the new toy and one of them is a more efficient intercooler...

Check out the difference between Stock (Left) and the new one (Right)..

And, I can't believe I am saying this... but... mods on the Porsche are CHEAP compared to my E55.. LOL...

Man that is one FAT core!! Pump up the boost!

Victor, what are you doing for turbos, going with some BB's or something more advanced like a twin-scroll or variable geometry unit?

Congradulations , may you enjoy it in good health. I love 993's, 993TTS is my favourite porsche surpassing the 928GTS and the 993Targa.

1.3 - 1.4BAR is the target boost... K26 hybrids or GT35R if I can make those work.. I am going to run a standalone engine management system.. most likely Motec. There is a guy pushing just under 900rwhp and he has the Garret BB turbos, so I am hoping to use a similar setup..

Should be lots of fun with the AWD and the tiny frame..

Here is the car I am talking about:

That model sells for much more than the newer models, relatively speaking. Aside from having such a classic and desirable body style is there a mechanical reason?

Lots of air-cooled diehards that don't like the fact that the newer 911's are water-cooled. These diehards inflate the value of the 993's since it was the last air-cooled 911.

Besides the watercooled aspect, the headlights on the 996 TT were not the typical round headlights of the other 911 turbo variants. However, Porsche listened to their customers, take note Mercedes, and the 997 has gone back to the rounded headlights.

Best of Luck

I bought that car in January 1996. I had it made in Porsche's speed yellow with matching seatbelts. I definitely had more cash then sense back then. Boy did I have some good times in that machine. I recall a trip to Toronto's 4 Seasons for a long weekend of pleasure. I remember out-running my headlights on the NY thruway. Time warp ****! 45 now with my eldest off to college next year. My how 11 years can fly by! Now I live sedately in my E55. Enjoy your new toy and all of its upcoming mods.

beautiful car man, congrats there were a couple guys i knew a while back with all those turbos running around. in fact i believe this guy Eddie Bello has the worlds fastest 911 and i used to see him working on it all the time, i knew a guy who owned a shop and they were close and to be honest i seen the guy i knew for the frist time in 6 years the other day. i know they did all the work themselves.

http://www.a2prosports.com/root/athl...p?athlete_id=3

there is an article about him. he and the couple guys i know are prob. one of the most informative people about those cars.
