My New Toy
My new toy is finally on its way up here... Its a 1996 993TT which is in PRISTINE condition for an 11yr old car.. Not a dent, ding or scratch anywhere.. I have big plans for this little monster.. I've been working on a full 3.8L engine build, coilover suspension, and I will be doing a custom interior on it.. It will be my little track monster when I am finished with it.
Already trying to figure out what Carbon Fiber parts I can make for it.. LOL..
I've had 3 of these already.. This one will be #4 but it is Polar Silver which is my favourite colour on these cars.
Here are the "before pics".. I'll post the transformation pics as it takes place..

Congratulations man. I LOVE the 993s, esp. the Turbo (and in silver ). Is it me or do they seem a lot smaller than both the 996s and 997s? I followed a dark red 993TT on the highway and those things weave in and out of traffic without any issues.
Man, I want a 993.

Thanks guys!! I've had a 993TT and a 996TT and I prefer the 993.. I know the 996 can be made to make more power and has more creature comforts but for me, a Porsche starts and ends with the 993..
It has a feel to it that is so hard to describe that you have to drive it to understand.. It's like piloting a go-kart on the road.. They are so nimble and make the most wonderful sounds.. The feedback you get through the steering wheel while you are driving just gives you a feel of being connected to the road and that's what I love about it..
I came close to ordering a 997TT because they started to go back to the 993 shape, but, I just couldnt do it.
A friend of mine just ordered a 997 GT3 RS, and another friend just took delivery of one yesterday.. They are VERY rare (only 23 made I think) and I went to see it and it is a beauty.. 8,000RPM of fun and I have to say it makes a beautiful noise also. So, out of 23 made, at least 2 of them will be here in Toronto.. LOL..
Here is a pic of the other 993TT I had in Polar Silver.. This one had around 600hp with all the mods.. This new one will far surpass the old one in power..

The quest for 700 h.p. and the 10 sec 1/4 ends here! 993 Turbos are the epitome of Porsche for me, as well. I saw a black 993 Turbo S outside Central Market a few months ago.. holy hell!! My friend just got a Yellow/Black 997 GT3, but I must say, I like yours better! Definitely keep us posted!

Sorry, not feeling it........ those things look like Volkswagen Beetles. I hope you got a really good deal.
You know that no thread is complete without one diickhead post.
Congrats on the sweet new ride. Don't wrap it around a tree.

1989 Toyota Tercel EZ - dyno'd @ 70whp/77wtq
I was considering 993TT and 996TT also before I decided to take a plunge on W211. Love it.... but I need to be more practical at least this point in time. Plus E55 is cheaper
What mileage and price if you don't mind sharing?
In the long run, I'd love to have both 997TT and 993TT in my garage... talking about collection, huh?

Dude sick car
just a real classic! So why not keep it stock as it is a pristine and
rare car.(Might be worth something in the long run!!)
But have fun driving it.
