finally did the 1/4...
and it was a blast!
I didn't realise how so few cars that compete get in the 11's, and for that matter 12's. I sure did get some looks lining the wagon up and plenty more when I drove back to the pit.
I'm fairly pleased with the times considering it was my first time down the strip, but looking at these two slips I think can see plenty of room for improvement. I did three runs in total, the first was a 12.5 without my foot to the floor. I was so pumped up trying to remember all that I had read here about getting a good start that I didn't floor it.
looking at the R/T on my second run I wonder why I lost 3/10 through 60' compared to my 1st run? It seems if I could pull the R/T off run 2 and applied that the 60' time on run 1 could get a couple tenth's easily off the ET. Can you work or look at the numbers like that? Is the trap speed good?
I would also like to know if it's worth investing in DR's? Apparantly if the car dips south of 11.5 I'll will have to make the car "compliant" which means fitting a roll bar. How much lower will I go with them fitted?
Anyhow, if some of you more experienced drivers can break these numbers down and tell me what you think I would appreciate it.
BTW, I have a K2 wagon, with the 80mm t/b and I was running stock rubber. I have no additonal cooling mods. (yet)
cheers.

Sweet - very nice runs! DRs should knock a few 10ths off your 1/4, but not below 11.5, so I'd go for it. You'll find it easier to be consistent with your runs as well when you're not worrying about the launch.

you R/T time has nuttin to do with your 60' time the clock dosnt start untill you cross the line. so you can sit there for 5 seconds and it wouldnt hurt your 60' time. we have basicly the same set up and i got 11.7 so i think with more pratice both of us can do better. i use DRs but i dont think they helped that much. when i mess around on the street with my regular tires i can launch just as good. did you use traction controll? i found that i have to, at least right now while i learn.

Those are really nice times, I ran on the same track Wednesday and you beat me by .6 seconds. Your 60' are way better then mine. my best was 2.09, I think I ran bad 60's because my car was accidently in Comfort mode
Your first run was better probably because you eased into the throttle, when you floored it traction control likely bogged you down. I am going to NED on the 27th as long as the weather is nice, maybe i'll see you there?
BTW, what exactly is a K2 Wagon, does it have the same powertrain as the 2003+ E55? Excuse my ingnorance...

I did use traction control as I know I don't have that level of skill yet to switch it off but I'll work on it.

If you go let me know. It's only an hour away for me so I can go on short notice.

those are really nice ET's and trap speeds..
I would think that your trap speed are bit lower than average for a K2.
but then again 117+ is a very good!
nice job and congrats on your ride.
I would say with better rubber and wider rear tires and the right air pressure, you should be improve your ETA and trap. The power is there, just need to put it down.

12.5 or 12.05??? I think the first timeslip is a 12.05.
NICE RUNS!

Yeah, sorry for not being clear. The timeslips you see here are my second and third runs. My first was a 12.5 @ 119 mph. I'm sure that had I floored it the first time with a cool engine my time would have been a bit lower than that 11.9
and it was a blast!

nice job. under the right conditions you should be able to squeeze at least 2-4 tenths out of her without any further mods.
