Latest spy information from my dealer.....493hp in w211 e55(M)
I was passing by mercedes dellearship, and decided to come in and have a few words with my delaer...so he told me they had a meeting about AMG cars...and Maybach car....and he told me that new e55 will have 493 horses...WOOOOHOOO
I just cannot imagine how FAST it will be????? 0 100 in 4 sec or smth???? well...I think they probably know the tru #rs of upcoming m5....and they increasing E55 horses so there's not a big HP gap between those two...
Other thing i also have a bimmer 745i, and today it broke again...it is 6 time i went to the delaer...so i will make them buy it back!!! and wait for my E55!!!! I'm #5 on the list

That would be truly sad, but I guess I would not have to worry about trading anymore, I would just go back to looking for my aftermarket Kompressor!!!

Claudio, I see that they commented that the C30 will be normally aspirated but I didn't see anything about the E55.
I've read several places that everything in the E55 powerplant is similar to the SL55. We know that it has SC, so I wouldn't expect any different on E55.
BoBk: no way the E55 will do 0-60 in 4 sec's.
The SL55 has been clocked at 4.5.
Expect something between 4.3 and 4.7 in various reports.

yes it's with 476...but if there another almost 20 hp as my delaer told me...it might save another 0.2-3 sec...well we will see later!

well as i said, my salseman told me that he participated ina meeting about amg and maybach cars.. and he told me that it will have 493 hp....so i assume he knows what he is talking about.

I suspect that the car will be officially rated at 476 hp on paper, but the true number maybe higher! It's hard for me to imagine that MBUSA would rate a car that has a sticker of about $120k the same as a car for roughly $35k less. Even thought the SL is a convertible, you have to show the justification somewhere and horsepower would be the ideal place!!! Just my 2 cents

there's no way that it will do 4's i think that they will make sure that the sl55 is the fastest in the stable. that car will be impressive. btw does anyone know what the msrp will be, i put a deposit on a new m5 500-550bhp. may try to switch but im concerned about the price...

i also doubt that it will be naturally aspirated, i think the potential for that v8 output has around 4 and some change. and i think they may be worried about reliability. thats why they smack a supercharger on it. remedies the problem. even bmw had to jump to a v10 because of the m5's v8 reaching its limits.

Naturally aspirated, as opposed to supercharged, would be sad, 'cause I would not have any incentive to make a switch up from my current e55.
Seems like everyone is sure that it will have a Kompressor, and I bet that 0-60MPH in the mid 4's will happen if we actually get anywhere close to 500bhp that is being projected...
