MP Design Steering Wheel - Where To Buy?
Those of you who've purchased MP Design steering wheels - where did you source them from. I found an MP Design wheel for $895 (part #46-337) which is the full leather wheel from performanceparts.com - but they have a 4-week leadtime and require payment up front, something I'm not comfortable doing with them. Who else can get these wheels who is a bit more trustworthy?
Thanks,
Marcus

Me too all leather and it is PERFECT! Great cratsmanship... It took 2 months for them to get it in though.
Performance products will put a hold on the funds for 24 hours but they will not charge the card until the item is ready to ship. I believe that is a CA state law.

Make sure to buy one, the wheel is sick, what a difference. I got lucky and bought mine from a member on the board, with the black bird's eye top & bottom.

Thats my wheel right there and I love it ... in UK had to go through local agent (Gericia). I paid 50% upfront and another 50% on delivery .. or something like that.
One thing when you swap it out you will need long torx bit (sorry can't remember size but around 45-50 I think) to remove airbag, and a large long hex bit (again cannot remember the size but around 10mm I think) to remove s/wheel - this one can be a little awkward and tight.
Keep car completely off when you re-re the air bag otherwise you will trigger an SRS fault code which will need resetting.
All in all with right tools and no hiccups 30-45 mins.

Just ordered it
Marcus, they will only get your credit card information and will charge it once they have received the item. I don't even think they will put a hold on your credit card since AFAIK credit card company only holds up to 2 weeks before cancelling the hold.
Plus, a lot of members bought ones from them and did not have any problems (except one instance where the wood is cracking ). Anyway, you know they have 15% off that ends today, right?
If you don't have keyless go, they could give you free shift knob instead of 15% discount, which IMO is a better deal.
Now... I need someone who could install it for me when it arrives...
Adam? Price quote please...

I swapped out mine in less then 30, you will need a #30 HEX Head to remove the Airbag and a 10mm Allen Head to remove the steering wheel. The rest is pretty obvious regarding the plugs and shifters. Just make sure to disconnect your battery.

Marcus, good thing you want the leather wrapped wheel. Should be OK. Avoid anything with wood. Cracks occur at less than 2 years and they will not warranty them. They will just ignore all attempts to fix them. Buyer beware.
