Autoenguity - Data Logger

Does anyone on this forum have this data logger. I just purchased it and can't seem to get it to work. I plug it into the OBII sensor and it reads that it is connected but it then says that it can not communicate. It then says verify by turning the ignition. Of course the ignition was already on. Any one else have this problem or no what could be causing it. Thanks

what type of device are you connecting it to? maybe try to reinstall the software.

A laptop. Could it be the obdii cord? Is there any mode that the car has to be in for it to work?

Depending on the version of the software sometimes you need to manually set the protocol to kwp2000. Open the software and click on vehicle tab on the top and then communication configuration. Once the sub-menu is open change the vehicle interface type to kwp2000 and try again. This should work for you. If it still does not work you can do a force connect by changing the initialization type to kwp2000 forced.

Thanks Rflow. I will give this a try. I thought Mercedes interface type was ISO-91412. I didn't realize that there were other interface types. Lets hope this works.
