Track Day at MIR - 10/08/07
as our big day approaches, would it be good to provide us all with some logistical details of the 10/8 day? I.e. what time should we be rolling in? How will pairing, ordering, taking turns, etc. work? Should we plan on being there all day? etc.

I was thinking about this the other day and would you guys want to keep one lane strictly for the cars with drag radials/slicks? It doesnt matter if the d/r and slick cars run in any lane but the street tire cars would tear up the traction compound. Just a thought

They are usually never right though. Lets keep a close watch on this throughout the week.

1. I am planning on running my car at MIR in "stock" mode; i.e. I don't want to burn tires, go in dyno mode, etc. I want to see what the car can do in real-life operating conditions. I will run in "M" mode and go from there.
question: Am I being a wuss?
2. The funnest part about this car: stopping at a stop light in the "right turn only" lane, with full intention of going straight when the light turns green; and of course, having no difficulty whatsoever pulling ahead of the other cars, and getting back into the straight lane upon the green light, with there being nothing but safe distance between my tail and the other cars front bumpers; I don't even think they notice it half the time; it happens so fast, they just sit there with that "deer in headlights" look, thinking to themselves, "did something just happen in front of me....?"
Question: Am I being a dick, or is this simply one of the benefits of us spending so much to have such an incredible machine.

dyno mode won't help et's or trap speeds, it only allows you to perform a longer burnout if you have d/r's. a light burnout helps with traction but if you don't want to do one you'll have to be very smooth with your right foot. btw, running in s mode has given better results than m mode.
obvioiusly, this is only my opinion but if you're getting in front of people from a merge lane that's one thing however by doing it from a right turn only lane i would consider that being a dick...not only to the people you cut in front of but to the people stuck waiting to make a right hand turn behind you. eventually you're going to run into some silly modded civic that's going to stuff you.

Ok guys, I just met a guy that owns Tempest Racing (a tuner shop) thats about 1/4 mile from MIR. He said we can go hang out at his shop the night before and dyno and do whatever. He also said we can leave the cars at his shop and they would be safe. Would you guys be interested in doing that?
