EVOMS has a 996 that runs in the 9's as well. It is the gt850 pkg. I know the cost for the gt800 pkg is like 75k just for the motor. These cars can be bad and they have some very good tuners. There is a bad gt800 for sale in Chicago for 120k. Car has 7800 miles and must have 100k worth of motor, suspension, body, wheels, sound etc.

That car is not 2800-3000lbs, ease up with the misinformation. And why would you guys not be impressed?

I've got an E55 wagon and a 996TT, mod and race both of them, admire anyone pushing the boundaries...which Markski definitely did
. First privately owned 996TT in the 9's. What's not to love?

To address Silversurfer, there are faster older cars than marks...they are just more private about it such as alexander. That's not to try and discredit you or markskis AWESOME car I'm just letting you know.
Anyone who isn't impressed by marks car is an idiot, or just doesn't like cars. Why am I not surprised to see this out of an E55 owner? E55s are nice and all but they are not cool enough to act like you aren't impressed by a street car with a 9sec 1/4

A stock 996TT weighs approx. 3500lbs. You said your buddy's car weighs under 3000lbs. You alluded to Mark's car weighing between 2800-3000lbs. I generalized that (3500-2800 = 700lbs.)
I would genuinely love to see a list of weight reducing mods for a 996TT claiming sub 3000# weight.

Add a 2wd conversion to all those things and looks like it would be under 3,000 lbs.

That's my point! That is his daily driver! It's not some drag strip toy he takes out every couple of months. That's the beauty of protomotive and the way they program cars, my buddy has about 1200rwhp in his 996TT and it's his daily driver. That's why I love the 996tt, I no longer own one, actually driving a e55 daily now, but that is impressive. 9 seconds on a car that can be driven home is pretty damn special. Sure he used slicks for this run, but E55 owners do that all the time. I'm sorry if you don't think a daily driver with the creature comforts of a 9966TT and 800+ rwhp is impressive, what does impress you? The Enzo must seem like a POS to you.
