C32 Wheels on E55? (and regards all !!)

Hey u all, been lurking around here for a very long time, thanks everybody for a very nice forum with tons of info, I have enjoyed it allot!

I have a C32 -03 that I´m planning to trade for a -03 E55. New car is fully loaded, distronic and panoroof, active seats etc but no extra wheels!

Thing is, I have to drive in snow so it would be nice to keep the extra set from the C, would my four C32 17" AMG front wheels fit the E55?

Also, I have been reading for hours about IC upgrades but there are just so many opinions, in new car IC-pump is done, what would be smartest, just a Johnsson pump or a full IC upgrade and most important which solution if so? I need some input on this to make the right choice (I´m obviously going to mod the car in future..)

My guess would be no due to the size of the brake calipers, but i'm not 100%

No! Only 18inch wheels are possible no bigger, no smaller! 19inch only with chassis modifications.

I remember that there were certain 17 inch wheels that cleared the calipers on a E55, but in this case, I guess it's irrelevant as they were used for drag racing.

You probably could, but i would think that you would have to use some type of spacers to clear the calipers.

Lets not forget that the bolts are different between the C and the E. Therefore it appears to be a mute point.

It is a mute point. The thread size and offset kill the idea.
The C already runs much more aggressive offsets than the E as it is. More spacers and all you will do is rub even worse.

As for 17" on an E, it all depends on the wheel and you'd need to test fit to see if it will clear the calipers. The only 17s and maybe a 16 that I have seen on an E55 was custom wheels. I have not seen any OEM rims, but I dunno that anyone tried.

Thanks all for input, it´s what I thought, it would have been to good to be able to use the old set. I´ll just put them up for sale and get some custom 17" or 18" wheels for the winter set, I prefer kind of flat surface on wheels for winter, much easier to clean.

What do you think of my options regarding the ic-pump? Is complete IC upgrade of any use to a stock car?
