$1,200 for Sat Radio at Stealer???

I looked into a factory Sirius set up for my car at the stealer and they want $1,200 for parts & labor (includes painting antenna to match my car). This sounds crazy high to me. What have people paid for this? Any place to at least get the parts cheaper (I think parts alone they quoted me around $800).

I got a quote for 989 in parts and 400 in labor for a total of about 1400. so 1200 is sounding better. I want to in stall sat in my car to. I did search online and I have since the part for as low as 680 at a MB dealer in FL

Definitely worth having, $1,200 is reasonable. I use it extensively.

Do a search here, find out what owners think of reception and sound quality (low bit stream). I have seen the receivers for $49.95 at Best Buy so $1200.00 is silly, you pay for the integration.

Funny, spend 2X more on a receiver than a life time subscription.

I hear you. 1200 is a lot of cash. But I dont like use fm or wires in my cockpit. Plus I want to be able to use my voice control with sat.

I call the mbdealer that is associated with the bank I bought my car from. They quoted me 1000 to install Sirius. So I'm going to take it there on Tuesday to see if I can get this done.

I had a "Best Buy" install on my Porsche (I am an idiot) for sat radio. The install was hideous and the reception was terrible. I can't see putting a $50 receiver installed by Best Buy in my E55! I want the integration with the command center.

yeah i felt the quality to be a bit low on the MB. But def worth it to have it integrated! Although the stand alone units have WAY better features.

Yeah, imagine a stand alone SAT and NAV, NOT. Someone could have a good business if those two could be intergrated into the COMMAND.

Hi,
Depending on where you live I know a guy who can get the factory kit and install it perfect with the antenna hidden and perfect reception at half the price. He does all the after-market work for Mercedes of Pompano Beach (formerly Autohaus). He put in one factory kit for my 2005 SL600 and a Nav-TV I-pod integration for my 2006 S65. Here is his contact information. His shop is about 2 miles from Mercedes of Pompano Beach, FL.

Where do they mount the antenna? Is it the regular little square one that are mounted on most cars trunks?

they have a 2nd Gen sat antenna. its small and it comes in the color of the car. and they put it on the trunk still.

I dropped my car to day at the dear. I'm getting Sat and Teleaid install. the sat will be 1000 and teleaid is 1700 for lifetime. the SA told teleaid is 900 for the parts and labor plus 800 for life subscription.

I got Sirius installed. the finial total was 850. I was shock that the dealer changed me actual labor. they charged 1.50 hours labor for the job. the other dealers I spoke to told me that it was 3 to 4 hours labor.

I got it at the same dealer that install it for me. they charge me list price for the parts which was $685 and labor $165. Plus I did not need to pay all the parts the first Dealer quoted me. the first dealer would charge for a receiver mounting kit of 124. however this dealer side it is included with the Receiver.

I live in the NY and would be interested in knowing where you got it done. Sounds like a great price.
