Wow, nice cars! I wish I was in the Bay Area again.

Don't know if I told you this Jesse, but I saw you rolling with Treynor when I was on a California trip back in June. Beautiful cars, all of them.

he was throwing on a set of Renntech shorty headers.

Rocket those tire marks aren't yours.

Personally yes I'd like to see a light tint ... but have you thought of a blacked out grill?

Rocket, yes, your car does need a little tint.... go to Premier.... they just did my bimmer and their work as usual was awesome. The only thing I regret was that they only carried ceramic up to 50% and non-metallic.

I went w/ non-metallic as I wanted to have a little more privacy

But anyway, all cars over there were sick... I think mine could be the slowest and the most stock.

BTW, where's the picture when Dr. Tony was checking my car? And where's Jesse's sexy post when looking under Alex's car?

Also, can anyone chime in? There were a lot more burn marks when I stopped by to pick up my car. I wonder whose those are

Adam, I still feel the jerk in soft acceleration. Do you think it's b/c of my bad tensioner pulley? Just curious...

what does all this non-metalic and ceramic tint mean? i am not a big fan of tint so i dont know. i do agree it will look better with some shade darker though. where is premier at? and what would you suggest for me? do they come to you or is it a shop only thing?

Ceramic is the best / latest technology out there. It rejects the heat the most w/o the need of having dark tint. In terms of tint color, ceramic is bluish.

Metallic is the 2nd best in terms of rejecting heat. Inside the film, it has some metal particles that rejects heat. My E55 has that.... according to Premier, it's about 40-45%. However, metallic tint may interfere w/ your cell phone and radar. In terms of tint color, it's like fade grey.

Non-metallic is the basic one, thus, it rejects the least heat.

Heat rejection comparison - based on actual test done by Premier in front of me:
- Direct sunlight: 265 BTU
- Behind non-metallic (35%): 59 BTU
- Behind metallic (40-45%): 35 BTU
- Behind ceramic (45%): 19 BTU

So I'd guess, it depends on what you want... privacy vs. heat rejection. Ideally, I wanted to have ceramic 20% or 35% but unfortunately Premier does not carry that. CA legal tint for front windows is only 50%

Premier is located in Fremont also - off of Auto Mall Pkwy. (not that far from Euroelites - only 5-minute drive). I'm sure you could ask Adam to drop it off when your car is there (right, Adam? Customer service, man). It takes a day to finish. Just look for Chris or Sammy.... tell them you're referred by Arnold. I think they could give you at least 5% off and no tax (if you pay by cash).

Yes.... either during 1st or 2nd gear. It's not existent under hard acceleration.

Adam claimed to be smoother after my Evotech ECU upgrade He said it would take time for ECU to adjust.... we'll see. Or else I need to get discount or refund.... haha! My gut tells me it's a slight belt slipping 'coz I always hear a slight chirp when it jerks. It didn't happen w/ stock pulley.

damm that is some good info for a tint newbi, thanks bro! im gonna get ceramic.

as far as belt slip not sure cuzz under the easy excel it shouldnt slip? i dont hear a chirp so i might not have the same problem. some said the chip was from clutch slip. what year is your car? maybe you have the old clutch pack in you SC ????

BTW, I was a noob too on tints until I talked to Premier. I didn't even realize the % is actually % light transmitted so the lower the number the darker

Yeah, I'm not sure either.... I'll pick Adam up tomorrow and go w/ him to FJ to have my tensioner pulley replaced.... I'll drive like a grandma so he could feel & hear it.

My car is '05 (build date 12/04). I really wish Adam could convince the SA at FJ to replace the tensioner pulley, IC pump (even though no problem w/ my current IC pump ) and whatever causes the jerk.

Another weird thing w/ electronic on my car is that.... if I turn the car off using keyless go... and I stay in the car for like 15-30 minutes, the key is somehow not functional. It's completely dead. I had to lock the car using the lock button in the trunk. But after like 15-30 minutes, the key works again This does not happen if I plug the key in.

And the blower also shut off by itself during max cooling. After I was fried for a good 2-3 minutes , the blower was working again. This only happened one time... if it happens again, I'll bring it to the dealer.

Damn... I miss my W210.... there was not even one electronic glitch on it.

Not that I heard from Premier.... but I'm a noob... so not sure. My C55 has 20% tint all around (except windshield of course) and no problem w/ cops.

**EDIT**
I mean for front windows.... yeah, for rear windows, you could have limo tint if you want to (5%).
