Supercharger for AMG 63s (M156)
#256
Would be a tricky project without some major engine work changing to forged parts through out.
Supercharging a high compression engine will cause detonation problems without an intercooler and even then there could be problems because higher compression engines already need high octane fuel to control detonation. You'd be stuck running race fuel or retarded timing.
The transmission I read couldn't handle the E55AMG motor reliably. Can't see it handling a 6.2l SC .... would be fun while it lasted though.

ones too fast according to CHP!
Yes. There are kits, low boost. Same with Ferrari and Porsche. However, anything more then 7-8psi, you will need a stronger motor with lower compression.

Ok, so then you have to realize that the "good" bolt on kits for other makes that have them are expensive:
BMW M3 V8 - G-Power - $18,500
BMW M3 V10 - G-Power - $33,500
Ferrari F430 - Novitec - $67,900 starting
If those numbers are not scary, then there may be a market/solution.
You have to understand though that the price would be between the M3 and F430, likely close to the M5 price. Low volume plus the proper engineering has to be split amongst the numbers of real sales you will make.
thanks

Just wing it, snag a used 55 kompressor off the "Bay" shoehorn the lil' phukur under bonnet, turn the boost way down then have Brad/Powerchip tune the krap outt've it & buy a 5 speed AMG slush box, 6.2 liter w/SC'r + NOS = 7 speed POOF! Illustration below of that HIGH RWTO entering 7 speed auto

Fundamentally speaking, it's hard to tell a car (specifically, it's ECU) that has no provisions for forced induction that it now has forced induction. It's one thing to increase boost or change the equipment on a factory forced induction motor, but it's quite another to take an n/a 6.3 liter engine and try to get the ECU to understand it's get 7-8psi being shoved into it now.

BTW nice topless shot
Rick, take your CLS63 here...if it can be done affordably I think they'd be your best bet
