I'm baaack!! Just bought an E55!!
I'm very pumped...just purchased an 04 E55. It is midnight blue w/charcoal/darkblue leather. Parktronic, Pan roof, DVD COMAND, Rear shade, Keyless go, 6-disk changer, lighting package.
Got it at $46k w/37,000 miles. Seems alot in this area (Miami) go for 50+ so I feel good about the deal overall. It needs a bit of TLC...and does have some wear and tear, but I think a good detail job will take care of 90% of the problems.
The test drive was lots of fun. I hit the gas and the nose seemed to launch up in the air and it just ripped down the road. That was it..I was sold!! It felt quicker than my previous 03 S55 and CL600 did, and especially compared to the 600...it felt much lighter on its' feet and more fun in traffic. I think I made a good decision. Hope she holds up for several years to come!
Here are some crappy pics of the car pre-detail....

Thanks guys! I really love this forum for all the good info, and all the good friendly people.
Now I just have to figure out a good shop down here for brake jobs, modding, etc... and figure out what I'm going to do for mods. Money will be a factor for a while, but I figure a flat hood emblem, maybe a black grill, and fixing the front plate holes will be a nice start. It will be a while before I can afford the trip to Renntech...

There are at least two very nice flat hood emblems that you might like to consider. Congratulations on a beautiful, well optioned car. Now go slam it and feel what you want.........Oh here is the link.....https://mbworld.org/forums/w211-amg/204485-dfwdude-flat-hood-badge.html

The Renntech modded CL600's are much more lively and I remember reading that the ECU mod helped fix the sluggish feeling that the car can give before you are in boost.
My stock CL600 felt almost slow until you got into the turbos, and the car took alot of gas pedal input to flow with traffic. I don't know how to describe it except that it felt heavy. Once I pushed it down hard, it came alive and threw you back into the seat. I had it dyno tested at Renntech and all was normal.
The E on the other hand feels much lighter to me. It just accelerates easily whether in boost or vacuum.
To me, the CL looked better and looked classier in the interior, but if I got a CL, without a doubt it would be the CL55. Not only more fun, but cheaper to maintain than the V12TT. Just my opinion!

Thanks for all the kind words and the welcome back!
I'm very excited to have a Benz again and I'm extremely happy with the E55. It isn't perfect and I still haven't slapped the Zaino on it yet, but here are some more pics:
The only problem is that now that I'm driving the E55, I lost a little lust for my weekend toy the Lightning......
