I guess I wasn't making a point, just throwing a comment out there. Makes sense to me that his 600 would take the M5. But, it seems like some guys on this board have a mission in life to prove something to M5 owners. I understand MB frustration with some of the M5 board members but understand that a lot of these guys have never owned anything faster than an M5/M6 and simply don't get it. I'm not downing my own ride or other members but physics is physics.

its interesting that there are a few that are upset but its not the owners of the cars that I "raced", both of which gave me alot of respect ( mutual) and said its the fastest benz they had ever encountered. Was the M5 technically "racing me"? no, for all i know he didnt even see me, but he was racing that Gallardo SL and I pulled around him while doing so, and to his own admission mind you. I think most of these runs started above 60mph letting both cars get the jump, I wanted to be at a "disadvantage" relative to the gearing and the mystic topend pull of the Gustav videos. Trust me its a different outcome if lower the start speed to 40 MPH and go on a 3 honk

The M5/M6 guys are acting like the CL600 has major mods to produce that much power. Heck, my CL600 put down 524RWHP on the first and only run on a DynoJet, after Renntech mods, and my car is bone stock down to the paper filters with the exception of the Renntech ECU/TCU.
The HP curve looks more like a torque curve. It produces over 500 RWHP for most of the run.

...........those M5 guys are amusing. Inevitably someone posted something about the M5 being better in the "twisties." Of course everyone here understands the importance of conering well. Most of us see an open stretch of highway and smile as we punch the accelerator. Do the M5 and M6 guys see an open stretch of highway and cry? Maybe they petition the DOT in their respective states to tear down the long stretches of open road and replace them with "twisties" in order to teach those benz guys a twisted lesson. I used to wonder why there are orange barrels in seemingly perfect stretches of highway with no construction workers in sight. I realize now that the barrels are placed by M5 guys trying to create the "twisties"

I think the main point the OP was trying to make with this thread was to put in question Gustav's "race" in which a stock M6 supposedly walked a K4 E55. In that thread all the M5 guys were talking smack of how the M6 whooped a highly modified E55, now the same M5 guys say that this race was not fair because the 600 was modded & the M5 was stock. Do you see the irony?

BTW, the white M5 in the video had basically every bolt on available for the M5 besides the Dinan diff.

Well no wonder he walked the M cars. Obviously his car is not stock and it's no surprise that he'd pull on them. 420 rwhp vs 535 rwhp. Hmm. That's almost a forgone conclusion. My brother has a stock 06 CL600 and I drive an 06 M5. Unfortunately we've both been so busy that we havn't been able to hook up for a run. I have driven his car and I think it'd be dern close. My only mod is the charcoal filters. Regardless of who wins, they're both great cars.

Clearly there was something wrong with the M5 and the M6 in that video. We have tested the M6 against the Kleemann E55 and as you can see from our video, the M6 easily beats the Kleemann car. I would like to see a true race, similiar to what I conducted. I also would like to know what settings the M5 and M6 car were running in. When I came to NY I did not see any CL600s willing to race one of my great M cars.
