Tire abuse?
I've got Michelin PS2's on the rear and loved them for wet and dry traction, noise and comfort.
Wear is another issue, they're rated 220 for wear ... I got 5,000 miles out of them.
They must be defective. I'm certain that it can't be my fault!
Does 5,000 miles seem low to anyone else? I've been to the track exactly once with them and had 5 passes, no burn outs.
I may try the Eagle F1 GS-D3 or Potenza RE050A Pole Position - both tires are rated equally high as the PS2.
Anyone else with abysmal mileage like that on PS2's? Did you change tires?

I have the Brigestone 050 PP's and just came from the track. THEY ARE ONE AWESONE TIRE my friend.
Can't say about their longevity being only a 140 treadwear, but you will love them, and they are cheaper than the Goodyears.
Keep in mind, that alass, all I drive is a little C32
See yeah

I am at 12K Miles on my PS2`s on my SL55.
Just some Canyon trips. No track. Otherwise all highway.
Starting to get a bit thin in the rear.
But should get thru the end of summer OK.
5K sounds really bad unless you are missing on pressure
or alignment. Or are fibbing on the burn-outs ???

I only got 6K out of the Pilot Sports on my blown W210, and at 10K on the W211, the Continentals are shot. I'm guessing you won't do much better on the next set of anything comparable.

Had the F1's on my blown E430 and they were great. However, I only had them on the car for about 4K before I sold it so I couldn't really say what the long term would be. It made about 320WHP, nothing like the 400+ of the blown W210 E55 or a W211, but they were still looking like new at the time and solved the tramlining of the stock Continentals. I would not hesitate to try them on a 55K car.

Yeah, I have used, and REALLY like the Gs-D3's. They are BY FAR THE BEST RAIN TIRE EVER! I used them on my M, and my racce car for street ues. I liked them MUCH better than the Michelim Pilots, I mean MUCH better, as they lasted longer, and were alot stickier, is that a word
AS far as dry traction, they are still really good, but they do fall short to the Conti's and the bridgstone 050 PP's. They will however OUTLAST both.
If traction is your game, try the PP"S

Thanks for the feedback all.
My daily driving is 90+% straights, so the dry pavement ability of the tires is not crucial.
Better that I cover the wet pavement benefits offered by the GSD3's.
