DIY Pulley Install

I had the two nuts off, I just couldn't tell what was still holding the lines. Thanks for the diagram although I don't think it helps much. I figured the lines will pop off but I can't tell which way and I don't want to break the bracket. I'll look at it again tomorrow.

I worked on the pulley install a little more this afternoon, yesterday was too busy. I got the fan out after a small struggle and the bolt out of the factory pulley. Now the pulley won't budge. I'm going to see if I can find my wheel puller, I know I have one at my business, but I think I have one here somewhere. My friend suggested carefully prying with a block on one side and then the other. This has not been an easy job for me.

I've got large big screwdriver looking pry bars but I can only use one at a time. This pulley has not budged. I'm paranoid about prying too hard. I put a hard thick piece of rubber against the block to pry against, and was able to apply a fair amount of pressure If I had a helper and we could pry under and over at the same time it might work.
I found my wheel puller, but it was too large. I'm going to see if I can find a smaller one tomorrow or I may try to modify the one I have to make it work.

I got it off. I used my big screwdriver pry bar. I'm sure working by myself made it harder. I pried from the top and used my plastic/rubber hammer and tapped side to side and it started moving. As soon as it moved I knew I had it. I used a piece of hard rubber from an old torsion bar to insulate the motor from the pry bar. I've got the new pulley on, just got to get the fan back in and put the covers back on. I'm old and have some arthritis and can only do so much at a time. Its been a while since I've done this much car work.
I have a lift, but my old 944 turbo Porsche is parked on it with a dead battery. I haven't even cranked it in a year and I thought I could do this without the lift(I did). If I had it to do over again I would use my lift.
I also have some headers to install and looking at everything I don't think it would be much worse than this. This is the first time I've had a good look under the car. I thought I would let someone else install the headers, but now I will probably do them. I'll move the car and use the lift for that.

It turned out that one of the fasteners was missing on mine which happened to be the small (10mm I think) one at the bottom of the fan shroud. That particular bolt held the coolant pipe in place at the bottom. The other nut is is located directly in front of the power steering pump pulley. Push the hoses aside and you'll be able to access it no problem. Box end wrench or a smaller 1/4" drive ratchet will work. Then pull the coolant pipes out of the plastic mount. Look at it for a minute and it should be pretty clear.
Check out the attachment which might help out a bit more. Sorry if I wasn't clear but you should be good to go now.

BrianS, first thanks for the contributions to the site. Secondly, WHERE did you get this attachment?! It's awesome! Are there more like it? Lastly, the link or name of an eBay you/someone else posted for the crank pulley removal tool no longer works. Do you have an alternate source or part number I can search on, by any chance? I'm doing this this week, so I really need to get that tool. Thanks! KWZ

I'm in the middle of a pulley install from Eurocharged. I see that the instructions recommend swaping the harmonic balancer pulley bolt out with a new one. What do you guys recommend? Should I wait for a replacement bolt to come in from MB? I'm not worried so much about the cost. I don't think it would be much over $15. I'm mainly dreading the wait and effort to pick it up. (Parts.com doesn't offer it, btw).
