Thanks for feedback. You and I sound alike: hilarious your nickname for your car: I named mine the "Beast" when I bought it a few weeks ago.
What are the Beast eyes in the grill? Very nice.
Thanks

The original commercial for our car had a beast getting swatted into the engine compartment. At the end of the commercial the eyes were looking out from behind the grill.

Forgive my complete lack of knowledge on the subject... Do jammers really work? Do they do you any good here in California or do the police here use different devices?
Got a ticket a month or two ago and the CHP officer told me that I was clocked using some new technology, LIDAR or something. He was merciful and knocked off enough speed to keep the ticket under 100 mph, which lets me go to traffic school.
But I've heard soooo many things about radar detectors not working (with the instant on, targeted radar in use these days), and seen little about laser jammers.
I'll do some searching around, but has your experience been good? These devices actually offer some decent measure of protection?

I understand the Laser Interceptor is the best. Check this out:

Here is the deal regarding legality of "jammers"; remember there is a difference between "detectors" and "jammers." Detectors simply receive a signal from a police gun and report that signal to you. Jammers on the other hand, send out a counter-signal to mess with the Police gun signal so the Police's machine gets all confused.
1. "radar" jammers: illegal at the federal level; i.e. the FCC regulates radar; and some years ago, made an administrative ruling of illegality; so "radar" jammers (if any exist) are illegal by federal law
2. "Laser" jammers: this is different: go state by state: in Virginia, for example, all of these devices are illegal to sell or use; (you can have an inactive detector and/or jammer sitting in the trunk unused, and this is not illegal); this applies to any device that attempts to detect or interfere with radar or laser: laser jammers, radar jammers, laser detectors, radar detectors; all illegal in Virginia. There is no federal law outlawing laser jammers.
3. Detectors: state by state: I know Virginia: illegal. Most other states do not outlaw detectors. Hence, when I travel from Virginia to North Carolina, for example, at the border I safely pull over with my emergency flashers engaged, check for traffic, and then retrieve from my trunk and set up my Valentine 1 and use it freely within NC without concern. Upon returning from NC to Virginia, I simply reverse this procedure: stop at border, unbuckle my seatbelt, return the Valentine 1 to the trunk, and proceed to drive the posted speed limit throughout the entirety of my Virginia travels.
Hope this helps.

Regarding whether Jammers work: I believe the answer is "yes!" Here is where I researched:
1. radarbusters.net (or .com; I can't remember; former cop named "Radar Roy"; seems to be quite legit)
2. check out a bunch of videos on youtube; examples of the jammers being used in real life. Pretty cool stuff.
3. http://www.guysoflidar.com/march-200...mmer-test.html (thanks to Pablo4.2 in this thread)
So yes, laser jammers work. Remember: "radar" jammers do NOT work and are illegal throughout the U.S. But, "Laser" jammers DO work, and are legal or illegal depending on a state by state assessment. See my other entry on legality in this thread.
Thanks all. If the police only understood that our cars going 120 mph are safer than all the Tauruses, minivans, SUV's, etc., out there going 69 mph, we would not be harrassed so much. We are the victims here; WE need compensation..... Special speeding laws based on the quality of the car: now that sounds good.

In the long run, its probably cheaper than the additional fees they would charge to implement & monitor incremental licensing based on individual ability and vehicle capability.

regarding cleaning my car: I bought the car from a dealer a few weeks ago, so it is still looking great from the dealer's detailing; but I clean it at least once a week; no special stuff: regular car wash soap + spray on turtle wax wax; the deep metallic flake maroon paint is beautiful; occasionally my wife catches me blowing kisses at the car; it is unhealthy
thnx

If you want the best laser jammer, get the AL, LPP, or the Laser Interceptor which is soon to be released in the U.S.
