C6 ZO6 Stock vs. BMW M6 Modified
#26
didn't have the little hood scoop, looked like a regular C6 to me
, modded C6 but there is no way a low 11 second ZO6 can't be at least 5-6 cars in front of the M at the beginning, it just confuses me

That M6 runs very strong to pull on a Z like that on top....He's a local guy here that gets all his work done at Active Autowerks here in Mia...I met him at Moroso in West Palm a few months ago and he seemed like a pretty cool guy....He was running low 12's @119 that day on stock rubber. His fastest pass on Dragtimes is a 12.16 @ 118 but has trapped 120...I guess he has fine tuned it since then

SO SO true. It is a driver thing. I always shift the Z at 7150 Rpm. Most Z owners on the street think it has to much power and shi-. I can get it to hook in first through to 7100 and speed shift to 180mph. The z does start to become mortal at 160+mph. Due to 5th gear being so tall. I have had it to 185 2x and all good. Been 160-170 many times, but 180+ takes awhile and some big ***** on the street.
I guess if I am in the E55 and I see a Z06 I will want to race. Even knowing that with a goofy driver the Z will still take the E55. But light to light and some cold air and ??? Fun times!
I was going to mod the E55 but from what all are saying even with 15K into the E55 it will still have trouble with the Z06? I think I will still do the cooling mod, pulley, tune and Quaife lsd with drag radials.
Anyways
The M6 is SICK SICK!

Allow me to illustrate. A stock SL65 ran 12.4 versues the -modded- Z06s time of 11.8. If a modded Z06 clocked that time, I feel confident enough, with my 11.9 I ran at the track, to be able to hang with a stock Z06 on the street.
I'm convinced something was seriously wrong with the Stage 5 or w.e E55 that got killed by the Z.

DID U post up your 11.3 at 128 run on drag times? I have never seen a Z06 (stock ) run close to that in California? we can put the M5 stuff to bed on Friday and there is really very little diff between M5 and M6. I would be willing to wager no stock Z06 will run sub 11.7 @123. Rangers time could never of transpired without a negative air density. His car is low 11's period unless you are 1000 feet below sea level. M6 , M5 are not faster than AMG's not down low not up top.The cars are extreemely close and the race is driver dependant. Friday we will have video of 1/4 mile matches vs. Z06 and M5, I do not see an M6 attending the event but hopefully one will show up to race the whale.

Juicee, how much do you want to wager? I just ran 11.58 ar 126.7 bone stock on the crappy run flat tires and that was my first time to the track. The DA was +1000' so I know it will do better. As to the M6/M5 not being faster down low or up top comment? Have you not seen all the video's by our guys? I would say that if the AMG has the right air and time to cool, the AMG will beat it pretty easily from a dig but it's not beating it up top. I think we've lost that fight.

From what I have read a guy just ran a 11.9x with his pricey mods. The Z06 runs 11.2 at 128 stock and the fastest stock Z06 in Ranger at 10.85 1/4 mile. So it will take a 200 shot of nos for a M5 to run close to that.[/QUOTE]
128mph trap? stock? i dont think so~i've seen couple trap speeds from 120~124...ill try to run Z06 this weekend and post a video~and that Renntech car that ran against stock Z06 from video, imo, has something wrong with that car or its just so slow!

Sleeper, I wanted to leave Saturday night to get there earlier but it looks like Sunday morning which will put me there late Sunday night. I don't see me making it in under 15 hrs.

I am simply referencing Fridays California Speedway event. I have seen likely 30 plus Z06 runs in California, the poster claimed a 11.2@128(stock) he lives in California , so I just quipped where is the time slip? This 11.2@128 would squash all the runs I have seen. When talking to the Z drivers they seem comfortable with the 11.6-12.2@118-124 range. I watched what appeared or what we thought to be the fastest stock Z time in Sacramento. It was slower than what you just ran. Maybe on a run to 150 plus the AMG gets pulled by the M cars but who actually gets to 150 MPH? 0-140 AMG wins vs the BMW. stock vs stock. The BMW in the vid is modded, I am sure Sleeper or RFLOW could run em and keep up. I have race several M5's and they do not have a chance from a dig. I understand LC is being done to some and this will certainly change the 1/4 mile races but , I am still waiting my spanking. The Z albeit an INCREDIBLE powerful car leads to serious driver error. I do like BOTH the M6 and the Z, but AMG is the complete package, I do wish we could shift faster!

i remember the amg stage 5 vs z06 vid and something was off. i'm quite sure i wouldn't get walked like that from a stock z06.
hey thericker, can you find a c6 z06 in phoenix area that would want to run me? i'd love to do some testing just for fun (no ego bashing or bs).

Well that was my RT stage 5 and I can say that I had it dyno'd the week after that race as I also thought something was off and it made 506rwhp and 569ftlbs....so nothing was wrong with my ride for sure that is what I can confirm! The only ting I cannot confirm is if the Z was modded at all more than his claims of a shifter, tires and filters. I respect Fadi and believe him so it was what it was. My car traps 121-122 his car traps 126-127 and it gets worse the higher up you go. On the M5 video, I think their was a little driver error on the Z's part and it may be one of the slower 124-124.5mph ones....who knows that M5 was bad and I give him credit for sure. I have a feeling alot of the posters here and on the BMW boards truly still under estimate the C6 ZO6 in a major way...this car is wicked fast and with slight mods is deadly!

Out Of Control!!
That place up north on sunday nights. Unfortunately someone crashed and died there a few weeks ago (unrelated to street racing and occurred during the day) so there has been no racing recently. I hope it picks back up.
Nice times Derrick! Note to self... dont race any C6 Z06's. You should be aiming for rangers times, you can drive!![drive](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/driving.gif)
Can someone post the video for those of us that are banned on m5board?

I've never seen M6 run below 12 seconds in the 1/4 mile. The fastest ones on dragtimes are low 12's and they all have headers, exhaust, ecu, cams etc... pretty much everything you can do to an M6 and it still can't break the 12 second barrier. Only the following 3 things can explain this video:
1. More BS BMW propaganda
2. Z06 was broken
3. The driver of the Z06 was a 12 year old girl.

its legit!
7 spd, better high rpm gearing and remember the Z06 had a passanger to offset the weight difference.
give the guy credit! He must have a good steady income to have a fully modded M6.
