C6 ZO6 Stock vs. BMW M6 Modified
Don't know if this is a repost. The M6 was neck and neck with the Z till 160. Is this possible. Thoughts?

SL55 AMG, M5 E60, 2002 S55 AMG, Range Rover Sport Supercharged,
Yes.
M6/M5 = High Redline RPM and fast *** gear changing and shifts. Why not?
And great Formula One based V-10 Engines that are easily modificable (a word?).
I'm not trying to be biased here!

Just another video to add to the M6 legend (...or myth).
If a modded n/a M6 pulls on a Z06 like that and the Z06 raped an E55 RT Stage 5 then it looks like M has the upperhand on AMG.
Stock vs Stock: M wins.
Modded vs Modded: M wins.
Oh well, can't win 'em all. Guess we'll all have to wait for the twin turbo V8 from AMG...or maybe some forum members could get vids of the claimed M kills
...just to put an end to this debate thats been raging on for years now.

Fine I understand the gearing of the M6 is good but to hold even with the vette at lower speeds. Isn't the strong points of the Zo6 is from a roll where there is traction? The video of the Zo6 rocking the stage 5 from what a 40 mph roll was crazy, since the E had more hp/tq.

give the man credit.. he put his $$ to back up his claims.
I can assure you, to get that car to perform to that level was not cheap
Modded M6 beats a stock C6 Z06 is a good accomplishment..
but really who races to 195?
the fastest I have been this year is 120 and I pulled back quickly. (3 tickets)
most of the time Z06 are not stock.. therefore good luck finding a stock one.

It looks like at 160 the M6 has a car length and then gearing takes over and the M pulls. Any car to hang w/ the Z06 to 160 from a 45mph roll is something else. Yes he spent bucks but not many can lay claim to pulling on a Z06.

Here's what the M6 had on it...How much would all this stuff cost?
Carbon air filters removed
K & N stock filter replacement
Supersprint Headers
Supersprint Cats
Superprint X-Pipe w/ SS Resonator
Supersprint Sport Mufflers
AA Cam ECU Tune
3.91 Dinan Differential
Schrick Kelleners cams
Evosport Pulley

i remember the amg stage 5 vs z06 vid and something was off. i'm quite sure i wouldn't get walked like that from a stock z06.
hey thericker, can you find a c6 z06 in phoenix area that would want to run me? i'd love to do some testing just for fun (no ego bashing or bs).

M5 will never beat a stock Z06
I have both cars. Stock Z06 will kill E55 and any moded M5. My 2007 Z06 with moded intake and tune put down 485rwhp and it is 3060lbs. I have lighter brakes, rear lexan glass, seats and such in the Z. I am a MBZ fan and have never owned GM until the 2006 Z and now a 2007 Z and will get the Blue Devil Z in 2009.
Yes, I will race any M5. I live in Yorba Linda, CA and I am not hard to find. My partner has a 2008 M6 she just got it last week.
The M6 is SICK! I am moding it for her. I will try to get video soon.
From what I have read a guy just ran a 11.9x with his pricey mods. The Z06 runs 11.2 at 128 stock and the fastest stock Z06 in Ranger at 10.85 1/4 mile. So it will take a 200 shot of nos for a M5 to run close to that.

Can someone help me out on this gearing thing. How could 3.91 gears help that car on the top end. Maybe it's my old 1970's muscle car mentality, but when you ran near 4.11's, your car was scrreeeammmin on the highway at 80-90mph. Is it the 3.91's combined with the massive redline on the M that is making this work.
Just can't imagine 3.91 rears pulling 185 but the vid proved it. Just wild.

SO SO true. It is a driver thing. I always shift the Z at 7150 Rpm. Most Z owners on the street think it has to much power and shi-. I can get it to hook in first through to 7100 and speed shift to 180mph. The z does start to become mortal at 160+mph. Due to 5th gear being so tall. I have had it to 185 2x and all good. Been 160-170 many times, but 180+ takes awhile and some big ***** on the street.
I guess if I am in the E55 and I see a Z06 I will want to race. Even knowing that with a goofy driver the Z will still take the E55. But light to light and some cold air and ??? Fun times!
I was going to mod the E55 but from what all are saying even with 15K into the E55 it will still have trouble with the Z06? I think I will still do the cooling mod, pulley, tune and Quaife lsd with drag radials.
Anyways
