Kleemann headers problem (pics)

I posted this over on the W210 page but I figured you w211 E55 guys might be interested since you seem to be the most performance oriented page on this site and also probably have the most Kleemann parts users.

I PM'd Cory yesterday. He said as soon as they get the defective header back they will ship out a replacement. My local distributor was confident Kleemann would make it right. It just sucks to have to wait on all the shipping both ways.

Headers are a pain in the head, always an issue and expense.

That's truly stupid of them.

Give him your credit card and tell him to ship the replacements immediately.
If he doesn't receive your defective unit in 10 days, he gets to charge your card.

Pain in the behind, not worth the expense, don't meet the cost-benefit analysis.

Noted..but have you ever owned a set that didn't crack, have an exhaust leak, clang against some engine part, or prove easy to install?

For me that would be yes, yes, yes, yes

As a matter of fact the only headers I have ever had a problem with where hedman headers on a 1985 mustang.

So far (knock on wood) thousands of miles and many races on my Kleemanns and not a problem.

of course...but they were all custom made. not that i've had a problem with off the shelf headers but for some reason (maybe because i'm a picky sob) they've never met the needs of my applications. the floored fab long tubes i have on my e55 are awesome!!!

now i have killed a couple sets of headers with exhaust wrap but that's nobody's fault except my own.

Update

My replacement Kleemann headers arrived yesterday. No ill feelings towards Kleemann except I think they should have shipped the replacements a lot quicker. Everything looks kosher with the new set. Both headers easily slip over the studs on my spare heads. With the first set one side wouldn't even come close to fitting and the other side only fit if you forced it on. I'll be shipping them to Swain tech for thermal coating after the weekend.

I can't wait to get these on the car!!

Good luck with everything. Hope all goes well with your new set. I'm glad this issue was settled.
