Atco Rental 12/4 or 12/5
Atco got back to me this morning. November is all booked up, but December 4th (Tues.) and 5th (Wed.) are open.
Figure it will be about $150 per car for 15 cars. Who's in?
EDIT - And let me know if one date is better than the other.

You usually get the track from 9 to 4:30. It SHOULD be cool enough during the day. It may in fact be too cold to run at night.
I am going to put together a list. Once I get 15 guys to commit, I will sign on the dotted line and leave a deposit for the track.
Next month, I will ask for checks from the attendees. I will hold the checks until the event, just in case the event can't go forward because of the weather. If that happens, I will just return the checks.
I started a thread on M5Board and have invited some friends from the Vette boards (who always remember to invite me when they set up a rental), so act quickly.

Don't I wish. Track is booked solid for October and November. Believe me, December isn't my first choice. But the track prep is so good there that a 40 degree day will help us shatter records.
The manager has my name and number and hopefully will call me if something opens up in the interim. But I think I am going to book one of the December dates and dress warmly. All I have to lose is a $250 deposit.

It is about 1.5 hours from the GW Bridge at a "relaxed" pace - 75 mph. It is a nice ride down the turnpike. Pretend that you are driving down the Jersey Shore.

Sounds pretty cool my man! I dont want to say "yes" just yet, but I am like 95% sure. Will let you know shortly, thanks for setting this up.
Edit: Ok, I just looked it up on mapquest.
address btw is 1000 Jackson Rd, Atco NY.
It doesn't look like toooo bad of a drive. I see its pretty close to AC

im checking my schedule, one thing to keep in mind is that the weather can get so cold that you get diminishing returns because the air gets so dense it increases drag and traction becomes a problem....I cant remember what the "optimal" temp to run in but i believe its around 50-55 degrees farenheit

50 is usually a good number, but Atco really does a great job prepping the track. If your shoes are loose, they'll get stuck to the track. If it were e-town on a Friday night, where they do not prep, I wouldn't even bother going.
The real concern should be beyond the 1/8th. So you'd make a few practice runs to test the traction at the far end and let the blacktop get some heat.
I am getting some more favorable responses, so it looks like I am going to put my credit card down for the 5th.

Ok, I spoke to my friend. His car is slow (14 sec car), is it alright if he brings his car there too (slight chance he might have a C32 by then as his car is for sale)? My car is also a pig, probably high 13's. I just love the drag strip and would enjoy meeting some of you and seeing some familiar faces. So, if its ok then yeah, I'm in .

I'll let you know.
Update - They are not going to be *****s. As long as you are not running 10's, it won't matter.

So it looks like I have 6 "yes" responses here. I have two commitments from M5Board members and a Z06 friend. We are still a bit short.
Anyone else?

OK guys - all slots are full. We have five guys from M5Board that are going to join us, two friends from the Corvette Forum, and a few too many from this Board. What will happen undoubtedly is that guys will drop out and others will want to be added. Next month, I will post another thread and ask people to send in their checks.
At that point, we will know who is really "in".
It should be fun!
