I feel like I just discovered the friggin lightbulb or something!!

I own a recording studio and was watching the SL63Black spy vid on the ring. First thing that strikes me is that the SL63 and the W212E63 sound COMPLETELY different!! So I start to put together a comparison test so you guys can hear the difference.

When I put the SL63 audio up on the big speakers, all the sudden I hear a high pitch whine as she goes by and I almost fell out of the chair.

You tell me what you are hearing?? Only thing that may kill me here is that I heard that AMG uses other motors sometimes in testing. Maybe they are using the SL65 V12 for testing. Oh it's 100% the black series with the huge flares etc, but I just don't know.

Here's also the HUGE difference in sound from W212 testing and SL63 on the same corners on The Ring.

lol, i knew you had to be in the recording business. after listening to your dyno mode vids i kept thinking you have one of those "radio voices".

anyways, i definitely hear what sounds like a turbo spooling for a split second. good ear!

Having owned multiple turbo cars, I would agree the sound is definitely from a turbo car. There is no way the exhaust is a direct to a muffler system. GREAT FIND!

MB is coming back with the SLC and it will use the 63 motor. I was reading in "The Star" magazine that it will be capable of 700 hp with the twin turbos. This will come out with the new SL body style change. It will be built by HWA.

All sounded the same too me,but the E63 sounded like ther rear end got light and the tire spun more than the others...thats about all I got.

classic. had $h!t day in the market. this thread is ending it on a positive note. for effects, i went lights out in my home office w/ a hockey mask covering a single burning candle-it really brought it home (lol). by the way, nice find.

Couple of things.

First, the Sl55 and E55 sound COMPLETELY different, too.

Second, how do we know that the Black series SL will be a 63 and not a 65? I'm actually interested (not to buy since no money) in the black series SL is why I ask.
