$40k is depressing but probably closer to the truth. With the housing market crash in the US (at least in my neck of the woods) it seems like no one wants to spend big $$ on cars.

I do have the extended warranty to 100K. In fact I just used it last week for $2.7K in warranty work all for electronic BS. I would hate to own the E55 w/o a warranty.

I wonder if the 996tt would be the same headache. 35K miles is kinda high for any 2002 996tt - it would be much better if it had 15k less miles but the price at 60K seems good.

I also have considered flipping the civic and using the Benz as my DD.

Without a warranty and the fact that you don't sound flush with cash, if I were in your situation I'd pass. Don't **** off the wife and **** with your finances just to get a car you'll be bored with in a couple years

I got to go with WayneE on this...not only do you need a baby seat to haul around you got to consider all the other essentials like stroller, baby bags, etc...the P car just doesn't let you haul anything else.

The no warranty on the modded P car also scares me unless you have the expendable cash for repairs if the ****e hits the fan...My heart says yes, but my mind has to go with the side of caution...good luck either way.

Your worst nightmare...
I would keep the E, but the P-car is a monster, How often do you go to the track?, the p-car as a daily driver will suck and will get you bored in a few. Keep the E man.

2003 E55 AMG
Hey Isaac... I just picked up a 2003 996 GT2 2 weeks ago to add to the collection.. Awesome car and a much different feel than the AWD 996s I had before. I think its an awesome car but I dont know how good of a practical daily driver it would be if you are going to replace your E55..

It is better to ask for forgiveness than for permission! Get the P-car and keep the Beast! Dump the civic!

Btw, here is a pic of the car with the driver (scroll down)....John's wife...Kerry who happens to be the #1 bench presser in the US at 123 lbs (drug free).

Hey Vic ... any chance I can get a pic of the GT2 trunk? (sorry I know its thats rather sad !) I been eyeing this car out for a while but if its got same size trunk as the TT then it aint gonna work ... ... its got the larger gas tank right?

They so few and far between that getting to see one up close does not happen to often...
